What if it's a series of career retrospective albums as mapped out by Bowie himself before he died? An exploration of each of his iconic eras, as orchestrated by the artist himself? Would you object to that? Or a series of unreleased and/or live material like the Dylan bootleg series? I would love to have either, and

Michaels/Collinsworth is my favorite NFL commentating team, now and
probably of all time. I actually look forward to NBC games because of
them.

"local papers (the ones that still exist anyway)"

As a native Minnesotan who spent a couple of months in Scandinavia last summer, I'd say Sweden is the friendlier place. But yeah, Malmo is probably the least Swedish city in Sweden.

I'm not familiar with the details of that story, but if he saved just one person, wouldn't the net balance be that he did a good thing? Despite whatever secondary motivation of self-promotion he may have with a stunt like that, I feel that he — the guy actually risking his safety and spending his money to help others

They used to have it! I watched the whole shebang about 5 years ago. It was great!

Another aspect of Amazon Domination is that their prices are steadily creeping upward — and I'm not just talking about the recent jump from $25 to $35 for free shipping, although I'm sure that's part of it.

Playoffs?? Are you kidding me? PLAYOFFS?!?

The main difference between Argo and American Hustle was that the latter was at least *intentionally* a comedy.

Funny, my impression is almost exactly the opposite of yours. I especially liked Cooper and Renner here, and thought Lawrence is being way overrated, for playing a dumb character in a really broad, obvious way. Her character felt shoehorned into the film just to give Lawrence a big splashy role. I guess it worked

Yeah there were a couple of somewhat cartoonish performances in that film, but Bale's wasn't one of them. I thought his character felt pretty grounded and realistic.

I do love that line and its delivery. And there are a handful of other cool elements in place. But I was just struck by how incompetently put together it all was, and especially how inept the acting is (especially Wuhl/Basinger, who have a lot of scenes).

That reminds me, I caught the back half of Tim Burton's Batman on TV last night. First time I'd seen it probably since the mid 90s. I was a little chagrined to realize that it's a pretty terrible film.

Me too! First one I've seen, and I thought it was great. And I've never even been a big fan of Kroll before.

Yes, thank goodness the AV Club doesn't engage in the sort of shameless attention-grabbing headlines they're taking the Razzies to task for in this article. I mean, you really have to admire the discipline with which they've resisted the linkbait gravy train surrounding Miley Cyrus and those Duck Dynasty dipshits

I didn't see it, and really have no interest in seeing it, but as I recall the consensus on How Did This Get Made was that it wasn't that bad. I mean, at least they're not letting M. Night write his own movies anymore.

Has anyone actually sat through Movie 43? I have a pretty high tolerance for dumb comedies but I could only make it about 15 minutes through that fucking thing.

Yeah, it's a completely different dynamic without Wain; but they're both great shows (and I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who loved M&MHI)

Extra funny to watch the DVD outtakes where it's revealed that the shot they used is like the 6th or 7th take, so she's legitimately getting exasperated from being pelted in the face with sandwich meat so many times.

I'd never seen the show during its original run; when I finally got around to watching it on Netflix a few years ago, the generic music certainly didn't stop me from enjoying the living shit out of it. Although I can see why that would bug someone who had seen it in its original state (WORDPLAY)
