I like Pym, but I agree that it's not the place to start. Todd's choice of Amontillado is a good one.

I'll admit I like it, and "American Beauty" too. And while it's wildly inconsistent in its quality, I enjoy a pretty good bit of the 1967-72 live stuff.

"Revenge" isn't half-bad. The location work in the caves is good stuff (it's a shame they didn't have the budget to do the same in "Underworld") and the goofy little Vogan boats and their silly-looking guns always crack me up. Sarah and Harry are probably my favorite companion pairing, and it's nice to see the

Nekromantik. It's worth it just for the, uh, climactic scene.

The Kung-Fu Priest in "Dead Alive" is before the last 10 minutes, so I agree with the hypothesis that Balls is full of shit.

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but there are few thrills in life that match the one a 12 year old felt upon spying a discarded magazine with a cigarette ad on the back cover. Flip it over with bated breath, and it's a Penthouse! Totally rad!

It took me a second to realize the puppet wasn't Jocelyn Wildenstein.

Trashcan, that's an interesting observation, and one that rings true. I can remember being at school and suddenly wanting to go hang out with some kids I didn't know, just because they had "Raising Hell" on the boombox. I never really got that into it, but I remember the huge shift in popular music that happened

I fucking hated the "Use Your Illusion" albums back then. Partly because I considered them pussy pseudo-metal, and partly because "You Could Be Mine" got played at least once an hour on WWBZ while I changed tires in a dismal Chicagoland suburb. Between that, "Poundcake" and "Wind of Change", I'm surprised the radio

Holy shit
Somebody besides me remembers "Powerhouse".

I think of "The Wild Bunch" and this:

I don't think they were supposed to be Cybermen, but the book is adapted from an unproduced Doctor Who script Adams wrote.

Between this and the Al Jaffee article, you're really opening up with your cartoon-woman fetish today.

You put them in a little baggie and drop them in the garbage.

I do read reviews of shows I don't watch
Why? Because I'm bored at work, the staff here usually write reasonably interesting stuff, and I need to decide whether to start torrenting a show.

The saddest part is Sr. Caballero's obvious lack of familiarity with history.

Those fucking slacker dictionaries. Some let "nauseous" stand in for "nauseated". That's just unacceptable.

Back then "Runaway Train" filled me with rage like few other popular songs ever did. I haven't heard it in years, but I imagine it's still a huge piece of shit. Fuck, I'm getting angry just thinking about it.

OK, how about this one:
