To answer your question, I point out the fact that AV Club didn't even have an article about the series leading up to or following its finale.

I just remembered that Entourage- another final season where nothing happens capped by a series finale where even less happens- also ended with a Led Zeppelin song.

The lack of humor really surprised me. This show used to have a darkly comic edge. I guess the closing montage kind of had that, but I was expecting for Bill to explode into a puddle of goo at any inopportune moment- right before the vows, during the vows, while Sookie had her fairy ball ignited, etc.. That's the True

Congratulations True Blood … for some how making Sarah Newlin the most interesting and compelling character in the series finale.

I personally think it's a bad idea. Award shows seem perfectly suited for a "relax and settle the weekend down" Sunday as opposed to a "start of the work week" Monday.

The thing that bothers me the most of the True Blood finale/final season is that ever since season 2, the show was never about the Sookie/Bill romance. Yes, the first two seasons it was. But starting in Season 3 or so, it seemed the show realized how much of a detriment/how pointless that was. Bill ended up wrapped up

I hate how much I like this.

"I've crunched the numbers, and it turns out that love is the most advantageous and likely situation for our circumstance."

Well with Parks and Recreation heading off into the yonder this year, this might be NBC's last best hope for a return to comedy greatness.

I agree on both points. If HACF wasn't on during the summer (especially as Mad Men's replacement), I probably wouldn't have stuck with it.

I definitely find The Leftovers compelling, I just understand why it hasn't really captured public attention. I also think part of the reason why I gravitate towards HACF is that because The Leftovers is relatively consistent in quality, HACF has a tendency to fail (quite often) before succeeding so I have hope that

It probably just means he can run really fast.

Rubicon! Rubicon! Rubicon!

If you don't like the shows, don't watch. Neither of the renewals surprise me.

The Ebola thing doesn't bother me in the same way that I can watch war movies when wars are going on. Except in this case, the war movie's an unintentional Stripes.

That is the best descriptor of the show I've heard yet.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????????????

I don't know. Mortdecai looks like he's getting back on track for greatness.

The cool dad said "hi" so now you're doing his daughter's homework and throwing her birthday party.

Was anyone else bothered by Bridget telling Hoyt that if he found out the truth about HIS MEMORY BEING WIPED that they were through? Instead of being at least somewhat sympathetic and curious that a large swath of his life was eliminated and why, she threatened him about finding out the truth?
