There's no HBO slapfest without Erlich Bachman

Well I'm sure his bank account is healthier than mine. And he's working with David Simon. So I'll upvote this.

Apropos of nothing, when I was younger I thought he played Freddy Krueger. (I still think he kind of looks like Al Bundy.)

The most expensive new set this season is Violet's sex dungeon. Even the Yakusa are based out of Fangtasia.

I'm still going to watch it too because it's a beautiful show with fantastic actors, but I'm not going to be watching it in the same way I watched the final seasons of The Wire or Treme.

At least with the Dexter finale, they appeared like they were actually trying. Dexter's pseudo-mother, Dexter's pseudo-son, Hannah, Harry's code, Lemanski from The Shield. You got a sense that they thought they were doing good, which made the finale season/finale all the more enjoyable. Because you can laugh at them.

They've skipped to 1931. In other words, some of the best era of American organized crime and American history completely skipped because…Terrence Winter got bored?

It truly is astounding that this show couldn't think of anything better to do for its final season than "Bill Sits Around To Die." And by "sits around to die" I literally mean, sits around to die. It's a show that is comfortable breaking its own rules and can make up any excuse whatsoever to bring back or create a

They should have just gone all out and done Cruise/Blunt/#EdgeofTomorrow

I've thought Gann deserved at least an Emmy nomination since the first season. His dog acting is so subtle and terrific- both with his doglike enthusiasm over things and his physical movements.

Definitely felt emotionally satisfied from the finale, which is probably the best you can say for a show's series finale. And I spent most of the season half convinced that Ryan was going to have to kill Wilfred with his bare hands.

But that doesn't entirely explain why it feels like nobody else is doing anything but her. None of the other characters (including Sookie) seem to have anything to do except sit around and talk about how Hep V makes things lame.

The problem with Bill being the big bad is that for a final season with two episodes left, we should get a sense that he's rising in power and becoming a legitimate threat. With this season, all we get are horrible flashbacks to the Civil War and him lying around looking bored.

Or if they spent a season focused on Vito's sexuality, including a prolonged subplot of him moving to New Hampshire.

Pretty much what I was going to post. (Actually, it was "blame…or thank?" but the point comes across regardless.)

Because she's become the driving force of the final season. Sookie hasn't really done anything this year, while Sarah's the one who has the power to heal all the vampires and who is forcing characters to do things other than mope around.

How did Sarah Newlin become the main character of the entire series? It would be like if the finale season of Dexter revolved around Astor's friend with the abusive father.

I'm kind of hoping that before a S5, they do a chronological S4. I liked the experimental nature of it and the fact they were playing to the Netflix marathon watching format (instead of doing it as a conventional TV season), but I don't think it entirely worked. Maybe watching it in chronological order (as a

They already did. That's where Amy Acker's cellist character lived, IIRC.

He was the best part of the final two or three seasons of How I Met Your Mother.
