That's true, Bubbles. But that's not what "gay panic" is about. It's about showing how "disgusting" anything gay is. That usually goes along with the portrayal of the male gay "characters" as the oposite of masculine,  and shows him as weak, spineless and just very unappealing (both in character and in appearance) in

I was pretty surprised at all the negative reviews about "the hobbit". While I didn't love it I quite enjoyed it. And if they had edited out about 20 minutes or so it would have been really good.

The times I have seen Rabin use that warning it was always appropriate. But if you can tell me some non-homophobic movies where he used the gay panic warning I would be interested reading those reviews.

Somehow I can't reply to "semper fudge" directly so I gotta do that here. Sorry. Anyway, SF writes "Because if you're a straight guy and you're grossed out by being forced into gay sex you're a HOMOPHOBE!!!!"

One of the things I like about Rabin's reviews is the fact that he is one of the few writers who does point out gay panic in movies. Would people around here react less "snarky" about it if he'd call it homophobia? Gay panic is a very good description of the type of  reinforced prejudice so many comedies nowadays

There was quite a bit I enjoyed in this episode. Alex's band for example. I would have liked to hear more of them. Also, the final scene with Lilly and the bride was actually funny. Phil on his "date" was also amusing enough.

Please Morrissey, just shut the fuck up! There are already more than enough people who spread shitty gay stereotypes so we don't need you to join in. You sound like a braindead fool who wants to keep gay people from openly joining the army. I would very much like to think that you are smart enough to know that sexual

When the author hated on "rescue me" I thought we were going somewhere. But then calling "enlightened" a "piece of shit" made me realize that I have no interest in reading one more word from him/her so I stopped reading.

Which makes it even more puzzling why they have written these two characters into the show. This episode shows the double standart just as good as the new years eve episode did.

"my dads kiss a lot"
Lilly, stop lying!
As usual we get romantic plots for the straight couple and a houseguest/"whacky shit happens" plot for the bachelorettes.
At least Cameron didn't scream like a girl for one episode!!
oh… wait…

Yeah I did. Because that would be a podcast I´d be really interested in. At least give me SOME insight information. The fact that the film is "CRAZY" can be recognized by myself and is not really that entertaining.

"There are some who are waiting for Louie to take his shirt off."

The thing that annoys me the most about this podcast (besides the misleading title, that one was only appropriate for the very informative "punisher war zone" episode) is the fact that whenever the male romantic lead in a movie is either gay or "widely suspected of being gay" at least one person on the podcast claims

I didn't see anything homophobic about having two of the psychos be gay. Or bi. It's nice that gay characters can be assholes just like the straight ones. The show itself is not homophobic. Their kiss/make out scenes are even shot in a romantic way. This could have been totally different, with both of them "grossed

This was so much fun. I'm gonna miss this show like crazy.

Yeah, also their friends are always "fabulous". And while - of course - there are gay men like that (and that's totally fine of course, I wanna live in a world where I don't have to add this, please) this show makes it seem that being gay is ALL ABOUT being "fabulous". It's like in order for this show to portray a gay

I was just talking to my nephew the other day about how it is"ok" to have homophobic jokes in a film as long as the film itself is not homophobic. And yes, I am the authority on that topic and get to say what's "ok" and what's not.

Well, what else are those 2 characters supposed to do? You can't expect them to do any couple-things on tv like the other couples on this show!!

I was a teenager when this came out (fuck - I really am old, that's getting scary) and while I liked parts of the film I remember that I did not love it. I also remember that I did not like the music enough to pick up a copy of the soundtrack afterwards, but I wish I would have had that reaction. You like to think you

Preconceived gender roles like gay men wanting to be and acting like women you mean?
