My favorite Alice moments in the show have been (1) her competence (tiny crystal horse); (2) the motorboating; (3) her admission that she is unsure about her future. That last one was a great relief after all those instances of being aloof (which read as superior).

Any given episode (of this show), as an episode, has horrible pacing. It's hard to consider it a self-contained thing with buildup and payoff. But there are moments I like a lot, and I'm sure the whole thing will play better if binge-watched. (Especially if/once the show finds its footing.)

And also Norman Bates' teacher.

Yeah, I can see it, too.

The actress is very appealing, a sort of young idealized Nicole Kidman, and I'm buying the bond between her and Nerd.

He's been promised an antidote for that whole spiders-in-his-blood thing.

SAPIENS DOES NOT APE SIMIAN

Was that a C-Word from AD nod with "G-word"?

I think you mean "be'er."

It was a luftballon!

"Mozart in the Jungle (Classical)"

Ghost dost not have thyme to play (or cook).

She has other modes, but yeah, that's definitely one of them. May she shed it posthaste.

"Her American accent died on its way back to its home planet."

He might end up poking his own eyes out at this rate =) just like the gypsy woman said.

Or food!

Ah, thanks for watching so I won't have to: I was afraid it'd be cloying.

It's Alan Moore's Mary Poppins!

I fell for the fantasy sequence we got at very the beginning, in which Claire spilled everything to Mrs. Fitz. I was bugging my eyes out bigger and bigger as she went on. I usually hate all backsies, but I was relieved when it turned out she was just gaming it out in her head. Woulda been burned for a witch!

Great gradual shift: Claire's minder goes from being her jailor to being the dude who holds her purse (maybe "Veep"-likeā€¦). She'll be running the whole castle in no time.
