Which Flanders is THE Flanders? (Stupid sexy Flanderses.) Also: Dr. Julius M. Hibbert.
"Say 'What' again!"
"I never did like to do anything simple when I could do it ass-backwards." — Billy Gibson from Wytheville
Upon the occasion that I try to be a serious man, I say "Deserve's got nothin' to do with it," but I don't have that Will Munny/Snoop Pearson gravitas behind it.
RIP Dennis Farina
"Fu€k you, fu€kball!" Also, it sounds like I'd have a ball hanging out with the Ryans.
I think "white quilt" is part and parcel of "white privilege" as a whole: Lord knows white people and our sense of entitlement toward comfy bedding.
Did anybody else have peanut butter-and-chocolate Reese's Pieces? Ours were just peanut butter.
"Trails and tribulations" sounds like it should be the title of a weekly trail-running column in one of those bullsh!t weeklies up in the mountains.
Do they still have an office in Boulder? I live like 20 minutes from there now. And I'm still unemployed*.
"(V)olcano liar"? And in another piece, "trails and tribulations"? I know a good, albeit avenging, unemployed copy editor who could catch a lot of this sh!t before it gets posted …
I know the difference between "cache" and "cachet." And yet I'm still not only unemployed but avenging.
Not "in thrall"?
Never saw it, but I wonder if Leonard Nemoy is related to Leonard Nimoy.
Also, "free reign"? "Walter Wolfe"? Although I guess if you dissolve somebody in a bathtub these days, you're opening yourself up to being called Walter …
Whitey Bolger? Was he the Rhode Island gangster who concealed his identity by playing the Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz"?
LOL: "pretty accurate." It also doesn't make sense as a "Hey, it's 2006!" signifier since Kobe won the first two titles before he got charged with sex assault in July '03 and the other two six years later. I bet he meant "2009 and 2010" and hit the wrong key …
"Kelly references Kobe Bryant’s legal troubles, which magically disappeared in a haze of back-to-back NBA championships in 2000 and 2010."
That's a long time between back-to-back championships!
I wonder why North Carolina gets "Wagon Wheel" instead of Virginia? If you were hitchhiking to Raleigh from my hometown in sw Va., it would put you right in the middle of the song's geography. And OCMS is from Harrisonburg.
So I'm voting for Clipse's "Virginia."
