to be fair, it's possible the DNC was just better at producing them. Word is, Trump only has like 30 people on staff, and none of them know how to run a campaign (the ones who do haven't worked since 1996)
i seem to recall other stories of Robertson being a pill to work with - i think it was John Lithgow who claimed he's sabotage every 2-shot and nail all his closeups, so the editor would use those - thus ensuring he didn't have to share the screen as much.
it's perfect, and i love that it's available to stream. Half the times i turn it on, i realize, "Oh right - Scott Glenn's in this!" because i love Scott Glenn, but i tend to remember Baldwin/Connery first and foremost.
Kaufman also famously clashed with Eastwood on Josey Wales, leading to his firing, and DGA creating "The Eastwood Rule".
i knew Gomer Pyle as a character, but not the title of the TV show - i would've just said "Gomer Pyle" and omitted the USMC
absolutely - the phrasing is just weird. i reckoned it was about the navy, but totally forgot Radio Shack is a store (i'm more than familiar with it as a naval concept/thing).
i guess they're joking that Hilldog will run the country into the ground? Or just that her campaign will be a humorless slog that everyone must suffer thru?
true. i skipped F&F at the theater, but i was pleased to see that everyone was back, and it did well at the BO. And Tokyo Drift isn't that bad - it's certainly very well made and LOOKS great - it's not a micro-budget DTV movie with cheap FX, even though it could've been.
WU was pretty bad this week, i thought, aside from McKinnon. Jost's best Hillary/GoT joke is "winter is coming"? Seriously, what about how the Lannisters pay their debts, but HIllary's last campaign fund is still in the red? Or something with a joke?
Fast & Furious is the Iron Man 2 of the Franchise. It sets up a lot of the connective tissue and groundwork for Fast Five and SIx, which (so far) are the best of the series. its function in that regard, and a stellar foot-chase toward the beginning, are really its only redeeming values. Too much CGI in the car…
2 Fast 2 Furious is a superior film to Fast & Furious - it's the same plot, has more cars with less CGI, has a legitimate sense of FUN instead of mournful dreariness, and Ludacris is rocking a ridiculous afro! Throw in candy-colored Mitsubishis you'll never see again, some cartoonish side-characters, and the…
THOMAS LENNON
i don't get to see this show live (only on youtube, if i can find a feed that doesn't get busted). this episode sounds like an apocalypse, but i want to watch it just to see if i can do better than the three of them.
it's the one where he seemingly eschewed foul language, only to coin "Fuckmook" at the zenith of his frustration
as evidenced by Lucy - it's got some great setpieces, setups, and surprises. I LOVED the opening scene in the hotel room, and everything that followed.
Guy Pearce is the ONLY reason to see this movie (and, judging by the opening scene, Europacorp knows this). His dialogue (and delivery) are so perfect, and perfectly aware of what movie they're residing in, really sell it. The last line of the movie is just as perfect as the "coupon night" opening bit.
don't worry bro, i got you: i LOVE that film (In the Line of Fire, for you youngin's that missed the '90s)
it'd be interesting to see someone "un-hip" get it, like Andy Kindler or Jimmy Pardo. Otherwise, give it to Anthony Jeselnik and let him live out his "Weekend Update" dreams.
we know one thing: it won't be Maron.
