Also, people forget that The Office, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock ect didn't start off perfectly - especially Office and P&R, both of which had weaker first seasons than Superstore IMO. It's not out of the question to me that this could eventually become one of the best comedies on TV. It already seems to have a lot more to

Yeah, the show was solid all through Season 1 but the last few episodes ("All Nighter" and the finale especially) suggested a really great and surprisingly cutting show and I hope they continue down that route.

You should probably watch more of the show before you make a critique like that. Even if the pilot somewhat sets that dynamic up, it changes quickly. Jonah is basically the Britta of this show, no one takes him seriously at all. If anything he's a bit of a subversion of the trope you're talking about.

It's kind of ironic, but this is the first time in years NBC didn't desperately try for a comedy hit, and it's the first time in years they got one.

They did a whole plotline about how everyone thought he was! (Or something similar.)

I feel like they are inching towards making Jonah the Britta of the group, which would be very welcome.

There was an interview with the creator on Vox where he said he's genuinely not sure if Amy and Jonah will get together, and that he wants it to be a true "will they/won't they" and not just a "when will they?".

Love would be significantly better if it were solely focused on Bertie and Mickey's friendship.

I think all of them are pretty good characters but I just don't get that ensemble/world-building feel I do with You're the Worst. It's hard to see Love pulling off an episode like either of YtW's season finales.

Yeah, Mickey overstepped but I really don't think expecting the person you had sex with last night to acknowledge your existence the next day is that much to ask for.

Yeah but TV Christmas is a pagan holiday!

Since Broad City seems to be in an endless summer, I really appreciated that the montage filled us in on their antics for the rest of the year. I still want Broad City Christmas and Thanksgiving and Halloween episodes one day, though.

Won't somebody PLEASE think of the men???

Yeah. She seems destined to be the next Casey Wilson/Jenny Slate/Michelea Watkins/Noel Wells. And she already has two seasons on them, too.

Great job on totally proving his point!

I feel like the "old" Update definitely would've done something like that with the Carson bit. During Tina Fey's reign in particular, Update did a lot of experimenting with/breaking the form which is part of what elevated it during that era. Think of, say, that bit where the voice of Don Pardo starts arguing with Tina

Yeah as soon as Rudnitsky had his meta "I'm never on the show!" line I was like, well, he's getting cut.

I would imagine having a seasoned and heralded comedy writer in the room creates a far different environment than having, say, Donald Trump in the room.

Donald Trump hosted an ENTIRE FUCKING EPISODE, let Bernie have his 3 minute cameo.

Yeah, I still think they are among the weaker Update pairings the show has ever had but they've found a nice groove and now Update is somewhat enjoyable rather than a boring void of nothing. Improvement!
