Yeah, I definitely think they would've given it to her if she was interested.
Yeah, I definitely think they would've given it to her if she was interested.
We still have one more Moffat season after the extended hiatus though. A long break in between the two tenures would've made more sense.
Seems like S10 will probably be Capaldi's last, but I hope he at least gets a few extra specials like Smith and Tennant did.
Clara in S7 is really just an entirely different person and should be discarded. The "Doctor as a young woman" thing makes more sense and is a lot more interesting than whatever was happening with her in S7, and I understood the character's arc and progression, but I still think it could've been better and should've…
They did better with Clara in S8/9 for sure, but I still feel like she's easily the least developed companion, which is weird considering how important they made her to the show's canon.
None of these are terrible but none are great or even good. I really hope he's better at showrunning than writing.
So, good characterization but mixed success with sci-fi plots…sounds like the RTD era's coming back!
Chibnall's episodes aren't terrible like Gatiss's, but they're pretty much the definition of "meh." Let's hope he's a better showrunner than episodic writer.
This is the main reason why B99 never quite feels like a top-tier show to me. It feels so formulaic. It's funny enough to get away with it most of the time, but it can't hang out in the elite Parks/Community/30 Rock tier of network comedy, as much as it wants to.
Hulu honestly has a better selection than Netflix these days, but the general functionality is a lot worse.
I think the problem with Brooklyn 99 is that it really wants to be a big, goofy cartoon like 30 Rock or Community or something, but its setting in a police precinct requires a certain level of realism, so when they throw all of that out of the window it feels…wrong in a way it doesn't on most shows like this. I don't…
I really think it's more of an issue with the show's format than anything, because plenty of great comedy writers got their start writing a lot of mediocre shit for SNL.
There are a lot of clever ideas in History 101 that really never materialize into anything. The Abed TV stuff, Jeff graduating early & the effect on the group, everyone worrying about life after graduation, ect. It's not hard to see a S4 that utilizes all of this and manages to be good, but, yeah..oh well.
Season 4 rewatch update: History 101
Yeah, Superstore isn't all there yet but I think it's going to be really good if NBC gives it time. It really reminds me a lot of early Parks & Rec and Community, not in quality but in tone.
Yeah, exactly. NBC just seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding of Netflix's model.
What a surprise that a free service that had ads that didn't work on half of the platforms it was available on made no money!!!
Netflix's business model has absolutely nothing to do with ratings/viewership numbers, which is why they don't release them. Their original shows exist to create a brand that convinces people to sign up. Their subscriber base has been growing exponentially over the past few years, so I'm sure they're pleased. If you…
Yeah, this is really not a good argument for NBC. 5 million viewers is solid for network TV, very good for cable TV, and pretty great for premium networks, other than HBO's biggest hitters. Even putting aside the fact that viewership for its individual shows has pretty much nothing to do with Netflix's business model,…
Weird, I actually have the opposite opinion of the two Basic Story/Sandwich episodes. I thought Basic Story was setting up a really interesting finale about things coming to a natural end, and then Basic Sandwich was just a weird, cheesy, over-the-top sapfest. (Great tag, though.)
