I'm pretty interested to see where they're going next season. It's possible next season is their last, right?

I am glad he acknowledges that the jokes were hacky instead of using the "jokes need to push boundaries!" argument. I totally agree with that line of thinking, but making jokes that even a 12 year old would scoff at is not pushing any boundaries.
Gillian has a show with Judd Apatow on Netflix that already has a 2-season order, so I think she'd be out too. Danny would probably stay if his pilot didn't get picked up, but I think he actually has to leave if it does (the pilot has priority). I think Joel, Jim, Ken, Keith and Paget would stay but sorry, that's not C…
Oh yeah, absolutely. I'm assuming (hoping?) that if it's just a movie, they could all find the time to return.
My ideal situation would be a regular, final 7th season…but it seems pretty unlikely.
Based on interviews it seems like most of the cast would at least be game for a movie. I just want a definitive endgame, whether it's a movie or another short season or whatever.
ABC does that with almost all of their sitcoms. It's really annoying. Narration has to be the dumbest crutch in TV and movies.
Same. I actually really like editing. I don't know, something about it is weirdly exciting for me, watching things come together.
Understandable. St. Marks is pretty wonderful and maybe the best thesis statement for what the show is overall.
It's so good, right?! Isn't "Knockoffs" one of the most perfect episodes of comedy ever?
I can definitely feel the Bitch 23 in this show though. The chicken pox animation felt like something that show would do.
I would hardly hold Modern Family as the beacon of positive portrayal of progressive issues (it's not bad, but it's pretty vanilla) but I agree that the stereotyping here was not great. I still laughed at the non-stereotypical jokes though.
I don't ship anyone on Community at all. (Or on most shows, but definitely not this one.) HOWEVER, that Jeff/Annie moment *was* pretty sweet, in a platonic way.
Community S6 is really reminding me a lot of Parks & Rec S5/6 - it's still fun and entertaining and I enjoy spending time with these characters, but it increasingly feels like the show's story has ended and we're watching an epilogue. With half the cast gone and the disappearance of pretty much any story arcs/stakes,…
I'd say S4 is significantly better than S3 but still off from the heights of the first two seasons. It's entertaining, funny and sometimes hilarious, but it doesn't feel very "essential" anymore.
I'd say:
The AV Club has been pretty kind to new shows lately. They gave Mulaney and The Slap good reviews and both of those were basically universally panned.
The ratings are seriously awful this year so I was a little worried. But yay! I know a lot of you hate this show, but I'm pretty into it.
I still think Cooperative Polygraphy and Geothermal Escapism felt like classic Community stakes, to the point where I don't mind considering them to be a sort of psuedo-finale.
It really feels like the loss of half of the study group has effected the way they're plotting the show. I guess maybe having a mix of people we've known for years and people we just met messes the emotional stakes of the show since everyone's in a different place. But the last time I really felt that classic…
