I think the increased realism is a good thing. I just wish the plots were stronger. They seem to be forgetting that although S1 was grounded, it still experimented with things like plot structure and story and went to deep, dark places (in the context of a network sitcom) with its characters. Most of S6's plots have

The low stakes thing is weird to get used to because Community has never really felt like that kind of show. At its best, it had some of the best emotional beats and stakes I've ever seen in a sitcom. It's hard to see the show doing an episode like AD&D or Cooperative Calligraphy or Modern Warfare or hell, even

Yeah, the ending was my favorite part and the final gag was classic Community.

It was fine! I'm still waiting for a plotline this season that seems like it actually matters, but this was an enjoyable way to spend a half-hour with some jokes and laugh out loud moments. B+

Apparently "Weird Loners" just means "hot people who like to hang out with each other and sometimes say sort of funny things."

I think the big problem is that the show isn't clear if we're supposed to root for him or not. He spends an entire episode doing shitty things but then he gets a nice ending where someone defends his honor and it's supposed to be a rewarding moment. It would be a lot better if they would just let him hopelessly fail

Yeah, after a few messy episodes they finally seem to be heading in the right direction. Let's hope they don't backtrack.

I want way more plots revolving around cows and way less plots about Phil wanting to fuck Melissa.

I think the show needs to either go 100% against Phil or make him more likable. Like, Todd letting everyone think Phil found the cow is not as sweet as the show thinks it is considering how fucked up Phil's behavior was through-out the entire episode.

It was weird to see him and Todd reach an understanding only to immediately have him scheming against Todd again 5 minutes later. The back-to-back scheduling really hurt that one.

I agree, although the 9:00 episode was probably my favorite since the addition of January Jones. Hope we are now totally done with Phil pining for Melissa.

From what I've read most critics actually liked the courtroom arc. They weren't my favorite episodes (although I think Kimmy Rides a Bike is really great) but I think they helped give the season some structure that made it click better overall. I just don't find a courtroom full of idiots to be as fun of a place to be

Britta riding away on a Big Wheel to try to make a point seems perfectly in character to me. Britta pooping her pants, not as much.

For the record…the reception has been pretty positive outside of this board. Seems like a lot of people really liked it. I thought it was flawed, but still enjoyable. I would've liked it way better without the weird Britta stuff.

Harmon said in S2/S3 that his long-term plan for the show was to end the Greendale years after Season 4 and start following the characters outside of the school afterwards. Like Dr. Clash said, I'm assuming that after Harmon was fired/re-hired and several cast members left, plans changed.

It's true that the original "community" is gone which is sad and is probably why they're trying so hard to make Greendale itself the center of the show. But I really wish we were getting more information about these characters' out-of-school lives. This is a show that, in its heyday, was very interested in its

It's never been a laugh-a-minute show on par with something like 30 Rock, but it's always had a very relatable, conversational humor that I find really appealing.

Yeah the Britta storyline was awwwwful. I liked everything else, but that was painful. It's sad too because last week was pretty good for her. I really hope they take a more in-depth look at where she is right now because it has the potential to be pretty interesting rather than just a series of ridiculous gags.

To me the spirit of Community seems most alive in Comedy Central shows like Review, Broad City, Nathan for You, ect…stuff that combines ambition and character. Kimmy Schmidt is probably the best traditional sitcom though, although it feels unfair to compare a new show to one in its sixth season following several rough

Yeah, it was all just really, really dumb. I thought it was going somewhere interesting when Britta was talking to Keith David, but…nope.
