I agree with Todd, too. I like the pace and length of these episodes, although it worked better in the first two when there was actually a solid plot.

Yeah, I want to explore these characters and where they're at in life. I'm getting pretty close to being done with "Save Greendale!" plots.

Yeahhh, that was not great.

Yeah, I think 26-30 minutes is a perfect runtime for a sitcom (it also worked well for Kimmy Schmidt.)

Okay, well overall I didn't think this was a bad episode at all. I thought it was actually pretty funny (I loved the Dean running gag - that's how you do a Dean loving Jeff plot without making it weird). My biggest problem was that the plot was kind of stupid and I can't imagine characters caring about something this

I'm halfway through the new episode. I don't think it's so bad thus far! I'm really enjoying the Frankie/Annie friendship, especially considering the show has generally been weaker with the relationships between the girls of the study group than the guys.

3am is THE WORST time to release things. 2am is easily doable, and 4am is too late to even consider. But 3am is at that horrible place where you shouldn't stay up, but you could, so you feel like you have to.

You can definitely both root for and hate a character (see: Archer), but it's just not working for this show. Archer and Always Sunny are fun to watch because a) most of the people in their universes are terrible, not just the main characters and b) their asshole-ish behavior is funny. Phil's is not.

Maybe she has some kind of anxiety disorder? Or OCD?

Their TV characters have the same age difference as their in real life personas. So I mean…

Yeah, it feels like the show wants us to both hate him but also root for him? And not in a fun Always Sunny way.

It's still doing pretty decently in the ratings. Maybe FOX expected it to be a dead show walking, but so far it's not, really. (Though ratings do keep dropping every week.)

I am fine with Phil being an asshole. My problem is that "I want to fuck this hot blonde!" is a pretty uninspired character arc. Especially with a show that has a concept as cool as this one does.

Ugh, this show started off so good, but I'm growing increasingly disappointed with the direction it's headed in. There is so much cool stuff to explore in this world that I don't know why we're focusing on the most generic and shallow romance plotline possible. I'm really hoping the ending of the second episode puts a

That's true, and I thought he was actually pretty fun in this episode.

This would be a perfect Bob's Burgers episode if it wasn't for the kinda useless Bob/Linda plot. But still.

I think it's just because they marathoned most of the cartoons (and B99) through football season so they could get NFL lead-ins and now they don't have many episodes left. I don't think we need to be too worried yet.

I don't get why people use Betty Draper as an example of her bad acting. She plays Betty's ice coldness/masked rage so well!

I agree, although I do like how the show isn't budging Melissa even a little bit in her refusal of him. This episode ended nicely, though. And I hope it's the end of the Phil/Melissa stuff.

Yeah, the second episode tonight has been a significant improvement on the past few, although I am increasingly hating Phil more and more (but I guess that's the point?)
