God, this is awful. I think it's because he was such a joyful spirit but this is such a gutpunch.

Am I the only one who still doesn't have grading? I FEEL SO LEFT OUT

Yeah, this isn't a bad episode but it's kind of a nothing episode, which is a problem because Ganz + Halloween + Finally going to Pierce's mansion + Jeff deciding to find his dad should equal a classic. But it's just a "not THAT bad" episode with some sort of funny lines and…that's about it. Like History 101, I do

Oh I definitely don't miss the pre-Disqus era. To me the golden age was between that and the NuDisqus redesign, where you had to register to comment but there was a pretty tight-knit community surrounding the comments. That core group is still there but there's a lot more shit now due to the way NuDisqus tries to

But even the lines that aren't jokes are still kind of jokes.

Yeah I have to assume that's the case. It seems like it's allowed people from other sites to more easily find and access the comments here which has led to an influx of…undesirable qualities.

It's nice that Alison is back, but no Gillian is a bummer.

When did the AV Club comments section (outside of here, of course) become so shitty? I remember I used to think it was one of the few comments sections where most people were basically intelligent and decent, but it's getting to be just as bad as everywhere else. This is a sad progression.

This is one of my favorite episodes. It just really nails the feeling of being young and disappointed at yourself and wanting desperately to be someone else. It also totally nails the feeling of a family beach vacation, so double win!

Rock Show is the true start of P&R to me. It's fantastic.

I've rewatched most of S3 and I still really love it. Leslie/Ben were more interesting then because they kind of at odds despite liking each other and Chris/Ann isn't really that much of a presence. Plus, nothing changes the fact that episodes like Flu Season and The Fight are just pitch-perfect comedy.

One of my biggest problem with later Parks is that they moved Leslie and Ben's romance into the center of the show. They were never really that interesting of a couple to me, and the show is a lot better when it's focusing on people like Leslie and Ron or on Leslie's relationship with the rest of the Parks department.

Yeah, basically this. I think S3 set the groundwork for a lot of the elements that would sink the show, but it doesn't take away from the fact that the season itself was really great.

The "who's Shirley's baby daddy" arc is certainly one we would all like to forget.

My "eh" at the recent P&R seasons makes me forget how genuinely great Seasons 2 and 3 were. I was watching them in syndication recently and they really are fantastic. Even S4 is pretty good, although it starts all of the issues that made Seasons 5 and 6 problematic.

Yeah, you can definitely make the "setting up a season that never happened" criticism of Season 5 and Repilot as well. (I thought S3 did a better job with its arc, even if it was probably a bit overly ambitious). I would really love for Season 6 to give us what Repilot/Intro to Teaching promised.

I have a feeling that show is going to be great, but I'm worried about it surviving on present-day NBC. I don't think 30 Rock would make it on that network if it were to premiere now. I could see them throwing it behind Parks and letting it die. I really hope they don't do that, though.

I was surprised people said this show wasn't that bad because I watched the first two episodes and thought it was one of the worst, most hacky sitcoms of the year. But I guess it got better?

This is definitely one of the only interesting S4 episodes to me. It sets up a season that never actually happened, but could've been decent if it had - the "senior year, let's make the most of it" vibe, Abed's anxiety about the group disbanding, Jeff being torn between early graduation and staying with his

I've only seen Married and You're the Worst. They're both decent, not amazing, but worth a watch. You're the Worst in particular seems like it could become something great if it straightens everything out.
