MF Doom?

Amy Ryan
I don't know what it is about her, but she's oddly attractive. I don't think she's beautiful, but I want to make mouth babies with here regardless.

I don't understand why you said this, but I kind of agree.

Yeah, that or that awful looking Tyler Perry sitcom on TBS. TBS is soooo much better when it sticks to Home Improvement reruns.

You met him?

Whats the cutoff ratio for amount of day spent on AV Club board to fuckwad? It wouldn't happen to be 30% would it?

My nomination
Dillinger 4. Fucking great band, IMO.

I like Gangs, I think it gets a bad rap. My only problem is its too long, other than that I enjoyed it very much, even Cameron Diaz. Bill the Butcher is awesome, as are most things Daniel Day Lewis.

Rest easy Pilgrim.

I DON"T WANT YOUR LIFE!

Yeah, I second Kicking and Screaming, I love Ditka in that movie!

You messed with the wrong dog, didn't ya?

Yeah, they got lumped in with some shitty shit, but they were miles above. I think emo dudes just mistook them for their own kind based on how skinny they were and how tight their jeans were. I'd always be like, "no no no, they're not emo, they're just really gay!" Those two sub-cultures get mixed up quite a bit.

You went overboard with you affability my friend.

Damn, you beat me to it. I 'spose its time to start waking up before 1 in the afternoon.

Wouldn't the very nature of asking people to explore/celebrate those themes be provocative though? I can almost say for certain that 80-85% of America would be shocked by what they saw. Hedwig is jarring in its own way as well (hermaphriditic rock star?) so I think at least part of his intent is to push buttons.

How 'bout
John Cameron Mitchell? Shortbus basically forces you to sympathize and even celebrate graphic sexuality, thats pretty fucking provocative. I'll never hear the star-spangled banner again without thinking of it.

Rachtman circa '90 with his uber metal-mullet, maybe; all other incarnations of Ractmanesque Ractmanitude, nosireee.

Well when you put it like that… still think it could work. You're probably right though, bad idea.

My idea
I think this book could make an excellent horror film, smith just destroyed his own creation for a quick buck here though. I think if you made it longer, so it could focus more on the dread and desperation, plus add a little characterization, this could be a cult-classic. The book isn't perfect by any
