This is a terrific article and a great idea for a recurring feature. I would love to read a take on the Dirty Harry franchise.

If you haven't already, I recommend the equally fun Waid/Wieringo run. That's my favorite run since Byrne.

I dislike Stan Lee. He is overrated.

I think he's better in smaller doses. I enjoyed his early indie work, like The Couriers, Demo, and Local. His recent stuff has left me cold. I didn't like DMZ at all.

We'll miss you, Jeff.
Well-done, Marah. I hope the AV Club realizes there is a dedicated following of metal fans. Even though Loud is gone, please keep the metal coverage coming.
Or Jeff Hanneman's ghost will come rip your fucking heads off.

LOVE YOU NABIN!

Gotcha. I saw the trailer where they replicated one cool scene almost verbatim from the comic (Jensen's infiltration with help from Cougar) and got excited, but then I realized there was no way it could be good if it was rated PG-13. I still recommend that you check out the

I think it's cool to see non-mainstream work get some love. They need the publicity more than the bigger publishers.

It works for The Walking Dead because new readers can easily start out with volume one and start reading the whole story. It works with Watchmen and 300 because there is only one volume.

Diggle's best work was The Losers, especially with Jock's artwork. It read like an action movie on paper.

I thought the issues of Cable and Thor were other good comics from the 'nuff said event. Igor Kordey rendered Cable beating the techno-organic virus and Stuart Immonen's artwork beautiful showed the denizens of Asgard mourning the death of Odin. Great stuff!

I'm glad I'm not alone in digging this episode. The script from Gerber and Lansdale is creepy, wrong, and hilarious. In the commentary to this episode, Bruce Timm said that "I don't think Steve Gerber believes in heroes." That's a nice summation of Gerber's work and why this episode seems off-brand.

Why do people call them "frames" instead of panels?

Oof. Thanks for reminding me why I dislike Adi Granov's artwork. He's OK at designing machines but when it comes to people his digital work ends up looking creepy.

I wish they'd just end it already.

Seven Samurai is my all-time favorite film, period.

I guess Catwoman's costume pops against the red sky (why is the sky red?), but when Catwoman swings past black buildings she completely disappears. It's a redesign fail.

Ah, but it was a special waterproof floppy disc. Does that make it kind of futuristic?
