Bamonte's is great, but it's not by any jazz clubs I'm aware of. Did grandma Carrol uber it over to one?

Top notch stuff. Right up my alley.

Probably, but Slint and Tortoise shared one member: Dave Pajo

Good. Not great.

Where they said the video for Heart-Shaped Box was so gross that they had to keep themselves from throwing up? I'm pretty sure that was an MTV special.

Primal Scream: "Movin' on Up" and "Slip Inside This House" - Screamadelica
Two sides of the same acid-house-hippie-love-fest coin.

Pale Saints are great.
Also worth a mention: Curve's early EPs + 1st album Doppelganger, also Moose's first few singles/EPs (especially Jack), though they dropped the sound by their first LP.

Good call on Adorable. Against Perfection is great all the way through, though I think Fake is half a great album (I usually stop listening after "Submarine" - track 4).

Smile (i.e. their early EPs - so many of these bands put out amazing EPs) was definitely the best thing they ever did. They had a very steady decline from there, with each subsequent release being not as good as the one before it, all the way to Tarantula.

music files aside, it's probably a good idea to back up your hard drive so that doesn't happen.

KHAAAAAN!

Another one to definitely check out: In Moll by Markus Guentner, especially if you like Gas. It came out in 2001 on Kompakt.

One of the most kick-ass guitar solos ever.
