Don't confuse "slow" with "bad"
I think most people have agreed that "Cornerstone" was a highlight of Humbug, so I'm not sure why this album would be a disappointment for being measured and tuneful instead of trying to re-bottle the energy of their first album. It's a grower, but it's a very strong album.

Just had a nice toke and listened to this on the balcony, looking out to the CBD. It's the dead of night, and pretty chill, but it still worked a treat.

Ready to upgrade from liking Cougar Town to loving it.
I took a few weeks to catch up on the first season, and I've watched chunks of the second season over the last few days… I was so stoked when I went to grab episode 13 and realized episode 14 was airing RIGHT THEN… I was finally caught up!

Maybe I shouldn't have watched this after Mad Men, but…
…I thought this episode was fucking terrible. I've found something to like about most of the recent episodes, but this felt like a total cop out.

Attention anyone in or near Melbourne, Australia!
The Astor Theatre is doing a Bogart retrospective, screening a double-header each Sunday for three weeks starting May 30th:

They remind me of The Willowz
Not that that's a bad thing… I was listening to them on the way into work this morning and it was bugging me trying to figure out who they reminded me of… now that it's settled I'm listening to it throughout the day. Pretty good stuff.

Wasn't really going to bother with this…
…but the review piqued my interest.

Stunning.
This looks like a good investment for my time and money when it hits my local theater. I just wish Gilliam was helming the new Alice in Wonderland movie.

Brilliant
Surprised to find "He Thought Of Cars" on here… one of my personal favs that never seems to get much attention.

Dude.
Where's the money, Rewind?

The Ecstatic from Mos Def is definitely better than Spirit of Apollo, but This Ain't No Mixtape from Curren$y has easily been my favourite hip-hop album this year. After that and Mos I would vote for Blackout! 2 from Redman & Method Man and BlaQKout from DJ Quik & Kurupt.

"Hey, woah!"
Dave's reaction to the school kid bird-doggin' Lisa gets me every time. It's since become one of those things that I'll say with the same inflection, then pause to think why, then laugh… despite the fact it all started with someone saying something offensive to me.

Scarnon?!
Glad to see they're making some progress beyond the US, but not as glad as I'd be if would stretch to the Downunderverse.

Actually, Fly, that was my succinct way of saying that I was hoping for 21st Century Breakdown to be as strong a departure from American Idiot as American Idiot was from Warning… but after listening to it a couple of times through it just feels like a retread of the same ideas. And I was digging those ideas the first

Gutsy move. You're a shark.

American Idiot 2.0… yawn… (and I liked, sometimes loved American Idiot).

A.V. Club gave it a "B" and it's sitting on 76 over at Metacritic. Pretty far from disappointing or sucking.

Top stuff, but it's no orange juggle.

Mama Mia!
"It's a fantastic"?

ConsUltaNT.
Dude on the far left looks like Mark Heap… more Dr. Alan Statham than Brian Topp but, yeah… usually the closer I look the quicker that sort of thing goes away, but I am looking at Mark Heap's twin or doppelganger or something.
