I would venture that "Through Silver in Blood" is one of the most accomplished albums, in any musical genre, ever.

The closer you analyze this show, the more incoherent it becomes. Just like…. Lost.

no.

Yeah, you definitely get the sense that Esmail has fallen way too in love with his aesthetic, and has forgotten what nuance is. I just don't get it when people in these comments say shit like, "this show so confusing and I don't know what is happening! but cinematography and atmosphere cool, and great music too!

“He who controls the spice controls the universe.”

Fuck you, Internet!

This was the first truly good season of GoT we've had in awhile, so it's hard for me to say the win wasn't deserving. But obviously The Americans is a far better show and was *more* deserving.

Ditto on The Leftovers. Although when that show veered into the batshit craziness, I fucking loved it. International Assassin is one of the best episodes of TV I have ever seen.

This show has absolutely no narrative coherence, but like any good trainwreck, it is more or less riveting.

yup, exactly.

I'm a huge M.I.A. fan and I thought a C- rating was… generous

This show frustrates the hell out of me and I think this season has been wildly inconsistent. That being said, this was a compelling and utterly riveting episode of TV. S2 highpoint.

Fair counterpoint.

Man, hearing the backstory on the creative process behind When Harry Met Sally is just fucking wonderful. I love that movie, and I love that there was so much real world inspiration behind its creation. It is, without any measurable doubt, the finest romantic comedy ever made.

Query what is worse: being involved in state-sponsored doping, or committing a crime in a foreign land, conceiving a story that uses legitimate issues facing said land as a scapegoat while concurrently painting yourself a hero?

As a piece of art, Mr. Robot deserves far more credence than that drivel Fight Club, and I am equally annoyed by the people who draw those comparisons. On this point, we can wholeheartedly agree.

I guess I misread your first paragraph? My apologies.

Are you suggesting that non-serious TV watchers are the only people becoming alienated by this show? If so, I must disagree. I thoroughly enjoy challenging television, and I would argue that there is nothing even remotely profound or challenging about Mr. Robot. I think it traffics more in shock-and-awe moments

Yeah, I spend most of my time perusing the comments section here for *mostly* intelligent discourse. If there is one site that hosts a vibrant online community, it is the AV Club.

Oh man, can I relate to this.
