Laura Dern on Enlightened was an insufferable black hole of a person but she was also right.

Boom. Mind blown.

In other news the sun will set in the West today.

True. Especially b/c the real people at fault are their parents … the Boomers.

Less Nolan more Ditko please.

Yeah. Audiences can enjoy a show where every character is a dick, the question is does the show realize that's the case.

Hannah is a despicable narcissist in a slightly more real way than Larry David is a despicable narcissist. My dislike for Vladimir Putin is a little stronger than my dislike for Magneto.

Is that Tomasso book being collected?

Yeah. I give it credit that some of the characters in motion weren't robots clanging together.

Man that fight sequence sucked.

DCAU better than all that but yes our point still stands. It has nothing to do with DC, everything to do with the adaptation.

I imagine if you did a poll of the best superhero tv or film adaptation of all time that the DCAU wins in a landslide at the AV Club.

ie a lot easier to cosplay in

She's just Hot Topic product placement … like the rest of the DC filmverse.

There's also the troubling fact that she's far more interesting than any other character on the show.

And featured deaths of primary characters

Except tv and film about rock music (documentaries excluded) nearly always suck. They come off like the episodes of Matlock where he investigates a crime in a "punk club".

You mean people don't want to be lectured to about rock and roll by old white men?

The long camera zoom through the bullet cavity (Ep 1?) was just too much. That's Bastard of Bolton level of wallowing in it and worked about as well.

It's a long standing Marvel trope that it's best villains are at least somewhat understandable. Magneto has a point.
