OUAT has crazy shippers, but Hook/Emma does perpetuate rape culture - made vaguely creepy sexual comments to her early on, and kept pursuing her even after she told him to back off. It's basically Buffy/Spike without any awareness of the problems.

And unlike Germany not only have they failed to reconcile and process their nation's collective sins, the government actively suppresses attempts to do so.
This is fantastic. Thank you for writing it.
I agree with this completely. I still love the show, but despite the fantastic quality of the episode I was super disappointed by how it turned out, for the reasons you stated. One of the first things I loved about the show was the diversity of the cast, and how Fuller made a conscious effort to bring female…
There is this rather questionable clip of SpongeBob watching a sea anemone on TV.
I'm also in the middle of a long-running project to finish In Search of Lost Time, except it's been almost a decade and I'm still on volume three. I read Swann's Way in high school and finished it in a week. Just absolutely blew my mind. To this day I'm still not sure if it's cause the small break I took before…
That's true!
Jennifer Morrison said on Twitter that the memories only extend to Henry's birth, so his conception remains the same. Which is still terrible writing, since it wasn't explicitly stated in the show itself, but that's the explanation.
Ruby moved onto a different show that films in LA, so she's probably not going to back for a long time. :( I still hope in my hearts of hearts that the Blue Fairy is the ultimate big bad.
I think with more exposure Ta-Nehisi Coates could occupy such a role. I'll also echo the people who mentioned Louis CK.
Now that I think about it though, a story-line where Regina undergoes trial and punishment for her deeds would be interesting. Does Regina simply surrender and give up, because it's the right thing to do? Who takes control of the proceedings, and who has jurisdiction? How does Rumple react to his protege and surrogate…
I agree, Xena is a great example. And we're willing to overlook things even when the character isn't trying to redeem themselves, provided that they and their story is attractive in some way — I just had a similar conversation with a friend regarding Hannibal. In some ways their misdeeds can be part of why we like a…
The show handled Cora's death so clumsily. We're supposed to feel bad about her murder, but it was pretty clearly self-defense. Then when they portray Snow feeling guilty, it's (unintentionally) done so she seems really self-serving — her guilt is all about how it makes her feel, not what she did to the victim.
Well, I mean, who else are we gonna root for? Snow? Emma? Puh-leeze.
"Momma, why did you name me Henry?"
"I dunno kid, I think I just picked it out of a baby book or something. Now finish watering those plants or you don't get to eat."
Opposites attract?
I don't remember necessarily hating that episode, but I definitely did think that it made for a terrible season premiere. I'll have to rewatch for specifics, but I didn't find it that funny. It would have probably been better received in the middle of the season.
Her plot on Friday Night Lights was lacking too. Totally could have done more to flesh out her relationship with Saracen.
How about that character development for Regina? She's come such a long way. Giving Emma and Henry a happy ending without her makes her permanently a grey hat, right? (Tell me this means no more plot-driven character backslides please.)
Yeah, that was pretty creepy, and I don't like how it's just being brushed over. But, for me at least, Rumple and Regina are the most compelling characters on this show, and they've both done many, many things that are considered evil. With protagonists so bland and sanctimonious, morality doesn't really factor into…
