The son looks straight up anglo. But the two daughters fit the "ambiguously brown" category by tee-vee standards. TNT's Falling Skies cast at least two from this demographic as well. Trendy.

Angry Birds, or mammals! whatever! I actually liked this episode more than last week's Moonshine Kids opener. And Terra Nova mommy is a hotty.

Gender politics aside, I just don't believe in the characters. Even if Pan Am won't offer any particular statement about women, it should definitely have women characters that hold our attention. I must be the only one at AVClub who likes Maria Bello's Prime Suspect remake. Other shows aside from Mad Men with actually

Here's a better caption I'd like to see: "Madonna rumored to learn how to play an instrument this year."

Holy hell this episode was awful. Sorry to mention this, but Mad Men has already done a great job of showing the struggles of women working under the pressure of sexism and patriarchy in the early 60s. We take Mad Men's women seriously and we likewise take the men with a great deal of seriousness and gravity. But the

Jesus with a suntan. Ben Linus with a Kaiser Soze limp. And a cast of extras that all suck.

Do you mean the black woman who answers the door when the kid comes knocking and tells him she doesn't know anything about his father?

Hilarious. I laughed all the way through this. I assume Maya Rudolph's "Ava" character is Oprah. I seem to remember Maya spoofing Oprah back in her SNL days..

"Natalie Portman performs in Black Swan, secure in the knowledge that a recent college grad is keeping the coffee pot full."

Forget Mel. I'm waiting for "The Final Solution," as promised by Lars "I-Understand-Hitler" von Trier.

What a wonderful, celebratory time for Natalie "I-Defend-Ass-Rapist-Roman-Polanski" Portman and her friends.

Who is supposed to be Terra Nova's target audience? What will motivate this audience to keep watching both the time-stream mythology *and* the moonshine kids adventures?FlashForward, Persons Unknown, and The Event didn't work. Would these series have had greater ratings if they featured more teen kids going on dippy

These comments leave me wondering: who is supposed to be the target audience of this show? And what will motivate this audience to keep watching both the sixers/time-stream mythology *and* the moonshine kids adventures?

Not the "real" timeline? How do the scientists who built the time probe know this for certain? If it's not our own past, then we're imposing the Butterfly Effect onto someone else's past. That could be like, umm, GLOBAL GENOCIDE or something.

Christina Ricci's Spanish was atrocious. So much for the "Us Stewardesses Are Smart and Interesting With Languages and Stuff" concept.

Christian groups won't protest these tv shows because they're too busy protesting perpetual war in the Middle East, war profiteering, Guantanamo bay, and global poverty. Oh, wait…

I had difficulty suspending my disbelief on this one. I did just fine swallowing ABC's Flashworward pilot, but it had splosions and stuff. CBS's "Person of (White) Interest" just has Ben Linus with poor dialogue and plot.

I guess Finch's machine forgot to list the SSN for the black guy who was STABBED TO DEATH in prison. Or does the machine generate three lists: Relevant, Irrelevant, and "extra really Irrelevant." Justice Scalia will love this show. snore…

Well, in this case it's Justice through vigilante violence with a price to pay—-but will the Cage will beat it in the end?!? I can't wait to not see this movie in theaters because I already saw it for free in the trailer. Still, Dream House wins the award for

I love trailers that give away the entire movie. The best movie-ruining trailer is the one for Dream House, with Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts.
