Much better than Kill Bill.
Much better than Kill Bill.
Please tell me this is just a thread for American directors..
Yeah the writing was already kind of terrible, which is why I always felt that Fargo's prospects for season 2 were much, much more promising.
This film is as terrible as it's poster.
I guess I'm in the small majority who think this is Tame Impala's best.
Watching your teacher get sexually assaulted on film is actually a pretty common thing.. Apparently.
This movie is very bad.
Still Alice is actually rather good. Have you seen it?
Honestly, he deserves it the most.
The fact that Grand Budapest is so singular in it's vision is a testament to his skill as a director; no other film from this year felt as cohesive.
Ida! Best film of the year in my opinion, by a rather large margin.
I also don't really know why Enemy isn't getting any mentions on these lists.
The mono version of The Beatles tracks are more different than you'd realise.
There's some differences in instrumentation, track lengths, even vocal takes.
Definitely agree. John sounds a little less lively in the mono mix.
Most of The Beatles albums recorded in mono sound better in mono.
Listen to the distracting stereo separation of something like Eleanor Rigby compared to it's mono counterpart; it's a night and day difference.
Mono simply means that both speakers play the same thing.
I completely understand what you mean by this.
If someone asked me what's a great film to watch, I might recommend Persona. If someone asked me what's a great Bergman film to watch, I might recommend something a little more representative of his style (ie. Wild Strawberries).
It's probably my favourite film ever made, and if you enjoy David Lynch films (I can only assume from your picture), then you'll see it was a massive influence on him, or at least Mullholland Drive.
I know a lot of people talk about the show going off the rails in it's last half, but I honestly believe that apart from a very rough patch about three quarters of the way through season 3, it remains fairly consistent (apart from that terrible coda).
Still one of my favourite shows, as convoluted and messy as it can…
I'd actually argue the opposite. TD seemed to retreat from the cosmic horror of it's earlier episodes and focus on fairly procedural and by the numbers conclusion. The arc of the characters was still great, but the plot was a little lacking.
Something about True Detective never really clicked for me, so Fargo wins pretty easily.
True Detective didn't change the game at all; apart from maybe opening the door for more A-list actors to star in TV.
