As always, we agree on a lot of these points. It was frustrating how many loose ends they fail to tie up or even address (pretty much anything involving the parents - though apparently Adam Harrington - Ethan - was unavailable to return so that's why he's not there). There were some weird cuts and staging there and

I think Jak's bartender GF may come back…we'll see

Actually really liked the episode. I appreciate that there's a measure of debate about whether this was an appropriate episode to air at such a late date (we tackle the pros and cons here: http://wp.me/p1VQBq-Uf).

Oh yeah - Ivy definitely knew it was Dev. Because she was mad at Derek and Rebecca, so she slept with Karen's boyfriend. Classsssic motivation. Oh wait…

It's interesting that only now that she's gone to embrace her own dream that Don realizes how much he lusts after Megan (or perhaps that's why). The transition from their perfect kitchen taste test to the Cool Whip ad in the faux kitchen was classic Mad Men and you're right, totally awkward and cringeworthy. Good call

Oh man - Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Romancing The Stone are true classics. Body Heat completely rocked my world (it and Chinatown are BY FAR my favourite neo-noirs).

Have to disagree - this felt very much like a rote "spinning the wheels until finale time" episode. Very little new information beyond the nice reveal about why Nolan is so invested in Emily's collateral damage.

There was definitely good in this episode (especially the two musical numbers you highlight), but the character motivations were so freaking muddled that it sank the whole enterprise (full take: http://wp.me/p1VQBq-RW)

Like you, I thought that the episode was light on plot, but the cameos and especially the continued progression of Jenna's storyline with Paul were solid (our take: http://wp.me/p1VQBq-Qh)

It definitely feels like things are coming together (and unlike Ringer, they're coming together in a satisfying way). As predicted the whole crystal mission is helping to drive the narrative forward.

Well I've never received anything from the writers at AV TV and I always respond to their pieces, so I politely disagree.

Definitely agree that this shouldn't really affect Emily's plans. Even if murder is significantly higher on the "crime is bad" scale that simply incerceration, like you say: what more can she do? Maybe she'll stop worrying about collateral damage?

Yeah, the Bollywood number was kinda crazy, but in all honesty, it was so much fun and everyone just kinda got into it that I'll just go along with it! Ivy's tune was absolutely amazing, but - like you mention - it's grating that the show can't just SHOW SINGING - it has to go for the lazy, melodramatic Grey's Anatomy

As much as the unconventional non-linear format worked, at the end of the episode, by the end of the episode, it was more about the emotional impact and less about the snazzy visual storytelling technique. There's no denying that it was an interesting choice, but what I'll remember the episode for isn't necessarily

The bit with Joffrey was definitely the most memorable for me (even though most are likely talking about the smoke monster baby). It was terrifying to watch that little brat turn some light slapping into a savage beat down. Tyrion may be able to play the adults off each other, but he's dealing with a whole different

Completely agree with you. It feels like they're trying to "do Lost" but they don't have the audience or the characters to pull it off. It's a little frightening when you realize that all of the conflicts we have now are THE EXACT SAME as they were at the start of the season: no one has done anything. How many times

Enjoyed this episode like gangbusters (I can't believe it only garnered a B+!)

I didn't *love* the Rose exposition part, but it felt like it had to be in there to get the Disapproving Brother angle addressed and out of the way since they are clearly plowing ahead with a Damon-Elena relationship.

Completely agree with your take. The Liz and Jenna storylines were great (character advancement? Whaaaa?), while the Jack bit wasn't great. It doesn't help that this is the same EXACT plot from 'The Source Awards' back in the first season - only with sofas instead of Donaghy Estates wine.
