Ferguson completely glossed over how the Islamic world moved away from enlightened rationalism and toward blind adherence to dogma as a result of the Mongol invasion.  Prior to the mid-13th century, the seat of enlightenment in the world was Baghdad, with reasoned Islamic scholars publishing from Samarkand to Cordova.

You should have watched Swan Song.  Hugh Laurie was genuinely funny in bits of it, particularly when he shoots his own foot with a paintball gun just to see if it hurts.

That's not at all surprising.  When does Joss write anything that isn't ultimately about a young woman with superpowers?

Oliver has pointed out legitmate problems with the show.  Henry's acting, for example.

Why wouldn't it look like brain death?  You don't know how the magic works.

Okay, seriously?  You're not even trying to pay attention to the show at this point.

It's a great show.  I hate that people don't all like the same things I like.

The colour was always this faded - except for the pilot, which had that edgy, monochromatic orange thing going on.

I really liked Alcatraz.  I want a good sci-fi series that explores its lore methodically.

You've been waiting for the writers to give Regina a reason to hate Mary Margaret?  What?

I hope this gets adopted.  Then game developers can stop using the "it's cinematic" defense of their idoitic cutscene designs.

Pretty soon the show moves on to the ramifications for Dyson, rather than for Bo, which is a much more interesting line of investigation.

NO!  NO!  NOT THE MIND PROBE!

Don't forget Hank Azaria.  Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria were both on Herman's Head.

Agreed.  Even cancelling Herman's Head to make space for Studs was less of a travesty.

I was first told I wasn't allowed to play D&D (because of Satan) in 1981.

Wait.  In the story of "Peter and the Wolf", you thought Peter was the wolf?

The only thing that really annoys me in Smash is Tom's assistant, and his knowing smirks and pointless conniving.  What the hell is he for?  Why do we need him in the narrative?

You read Angels & Demons but not The Da Vinci Code?  Or are you calling The Da Vinci Code the first one because it was the first movie (despite being the second book)?
