Well, I watched both in the space of a week not long ago, so I suppose the freshness was present for both. The dark turn in the second was definitely a surprise. They deal with death well in both, and most times comically without being "'on the nose". Apparently, there will be two more sequels.

Don't quote me, but I think it was somewhere in the 50-100 group

I feel like I have no mind of my own, but I agree with all of this list except for Wolf of Wall Street.
It made me understand why some of the high fliers on Wall Street do what they do; however, I felt no desire to be like Jordan Belfort or any of his colleagues at any point, and left the movie hating fat cats and

What do you think of the sequel? I actually thought it was on par with the first, if not better.

Was so ready to upvote you and then … Pacific Rim

It's Coriander godammit!

Silence deserves a spot if only for the cum throwing scene and its surrounding dialogue.

The biggest problem wasn't Michael Cera?

No Michael Bay movies on the list? Such a travesty!

Are you saying most metal guitarists are not intelligent enough to use the word "congruency"?
From experience, I'd say that's a pretty incorrect assumption

Thanks. It's in honour of my love for The Young Ones. I'd pick an avatar if I could figure out how to.

3 seasons and 19 episodes. Some might say it was a wasted week - I wouldn't.

Ahh, thought I'd seen her somewhere before.

The first time I saw her was probably in Angel. It has been a while since I watched me some Angel, but I'll have to lean towards preferring her in PoI

Phew! Let me catch my breath. So, after a number of nudges from the AVClub commentariat to watch this show, I finally started. 86 episodes over the recent holiday (must be some kind of record surely). I must say I was pretty much hooked after the first episode. Love the concept. Love the ideas explored. Unfortunately,

I will never understand the love for Cabin In The Woods. It is simply ok.
And don't get me started on Lincoln - I'd rather watch three hours of Lincoln commercials than that Spielberg snooze fest.
I do, however, definitely understand the love for Blue Is The Warmest Color

I'm a man and your reasons for "most" men being deterred from watching the show are the exact reasons I DO watch the show. (Oh, and the goddess that is Caitriona Balfe probably has something to do with it.)
Also, the only other person I know who watches it is also male.
So I'll have to disagree with your sweeping

I'll only watch remakes if they bring something new to the table. The only thing I can think of now that has been equally as good as the original concept is Veep. But that is most definitley due to the genius of Armand Iannucci

I'm down south in Guangxi

Yeah, it's not uncommon to wait two years in between series for a lot of these European shows. If it means what we get is a better production, I'm all for it.
