You Can Count on Me is outstanding. I saw it opening weekend in a theater so packed that my friend and I got the last two seats, front row, far left.

The season itself isn't bad, just one major story line.  The whole season gets painted with that brush, which is wrong.  In a way, it's fascinating to watch how good the acting remains despite the contrived arc.  The show remains, as always, remarkably compelling.

Yes.  Between his preparation for the dive and "It's a fad," the only thing as funny was the presentation of the circle and the added, "You know… for kids!"

I dunno.   It happens during prayer or maybe worship or maybe punctuating a sermon, but in the movie's context, anything past once was unobservant caricature.

When I worked at Tower Books I'd sometimes throw on the Phil Spector album in July.  It's actually a blast of fresh air out of season, and very easy to appreciate.

Cooper in SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK had some moments here and there, but there's no way in Hades that deserves a win.  Probably not even a nomination.

Yup.  I think they bought his papers when he passed away, as well.
