SAYING ANAL B4 CAR MODEL NAMES!! TRY IT!!

Watt has to be on at least two of the funniest album covers ever: What Makes Men Start Fires? and Double Nickels on the Dime as his legendary response to Sammy fucking Hagar.

Yeah, I'd recommend him to a foreigner attempting to understand the U.S. Because Thompson truly tried to understand the weird, depraved country he was raised in. I was surprised to read in his correspondence (I'm one of t h o s e fans) that he considered going to Vietnam toward the tail end of the war as a reporter. I

@ Harbinger — Really? I was always curious how well the Simpsons humor translated overseas. They just seem so uniquely of the U.S. to me. As if, the only way you could get the humor is if you've at least visited here.

Arundhati Roy: "What does it even mean to be anti-American? Does that mean you don't like jazz or the Grand Canyon?"

My top choice too. In high school, I was cheated out of good rock because it was the late-90s and basically forced myself to start watching BET simply because they played music videos.

"Superunknown" was one of my first album purchases and I still enjoy listening to it. I don't really understand why people pit it against "Badmotorfinger" because they're two entirely different records. You should compare "Super" to the next and final album they released.

It seems to me that they're just acknowledging how powerful the Miramax company is in getting the top five. I wonder what this announcement was like for the Weinstein brothers. Maybe they can go back to spending money on films instead of Oscar campaigns.

Skelton Crew!
Awesome jump-off point. If I was on a desert island and only had one King book, it would be this collection. I wish we could do this one for Wrapped Up In Books and suggested it months ago in one of the umpteenth requests AV staff made for our suggestions.

Well, this reply's probably too late, but I was just responding to Jimmy's conception of major label distribution. Because, I think our conception of it (yes, mine included) has became irrelevant because the system is so outmoded i.e. what does signing with a major label even mean these days considering the industry

Jimmy,

How much wealth would Morello's children inherit? To be a capitalist, you have to own capital. Otherwise, you're just representing someone else's profits.

Oh. Cool. Carvey played the desperate role a little too well. I was reading the second half with a hand over eyes thinking 'ugh, this is getting awkward'.

I'm a little suspicious as to how this interview was edited. The flow of it really falls apart toward the end. I could give Heisler the benefit of the doubt and assume Carvey was randomly interrupting Smigel and pleading for work.

You all can't pretend as if Lieber and Stoller didn't get invited to R&B Heaven. They'll have some other afterlifes to live in but lord knows they'll always be welcome to R&B Heaven.

#28 : lexicondevil vs Janet: The Flaccid Fang!

Argh, I meant "I Was Made To Love Her". Oh, and hell, let me throw in Sly & the Family Stone's "Runnin' Away". That will be, in spirit to Zack's awesome summer themed response, my August freak out song. I always look at August with a bit of weariness and I think Zack clued me in on why. Thanks.

Shmeasons
I'm not really a seasonal listener. But, if prompted, I'll go with Led Zeppelin's "Dancing Days", "Houses of the Holy", Pixies "No. 13 Baby" and RHCP "Sir Psycho Sexy". The latter two because of their shimmering melodic outros. Oh, and of course, anything Stevie Wonder. Especially "I Was Made To Love You".

Phew, I wish I encountered more Mick fans in real life. I like the Lennon/McCartney parallel because all the cool kids like Joe and think Mick is the trashy pop guy who they roll their eyes at during "Train in Vain". But, straight up, my fave songs are all sung by Mick. Namely because I can understand what he's
