I dunno, I became friends with one of the youngish teachers at my school after I'd left and I still feel weird calling them by their first name like five years later, plus 'Mr Schu' is more of a nickname.

Yes! I had to skip back and listen again, it was like the whole royin/ruin thing, but maybe not intentional this time.

But they never had the same kind of hostility, either.
They sort of did at first, but I think Fanny also quickly grew to appreciate Michelle and she's a lot more willing to actually talk things out. Plus, they have a good back and forth, like when they're dealing with the accountant in one of the later episodes.
I

@avclub-ffc905126015cdc6758873970fb59828:disqus I couldn't picture anyone else playing her, but now you've made me want to rewatch Privileged.

But @avclub-9a86162d4bf754718eec43bd2efbbcd4:disqus , I said she was decent.
Decent would mean a good 7/10 for me, but if it means 'bad' to you, then… look the word up?
I completely get how demanding those scripts would've been.
And no, there wasn't a moment I didn't believe she was her daughter; I said she was perfect

@avclub-0840875a9da6f24c4e0fc883b399d93a:disqus it's similar at first, yeah, but only because Fanny has a lot of resentment towards Michelle at the beginning and Michelle can give as good as she gets.
I think Fanny sees herself and her own failings in Michelle and is harder on her because of it.
I like the relationship

Oh God that was fantastic.
And the re-enactment at the Friday night smackdown.

Your enthusiasm… shocks me.

3, 2, 4, 1, 5, 7, 6

I think Sasha might be my favourite TV teen.
I love that they show her gettin' shiz done, but also how completely naive she still is.
Also, I apologise for 'getting shiz done'.
I'm a white male.
I'm a Justin Timberlake-circa-early-2000s-level wigga, now.
Oh dear…

Yeah, I think she definitely started late, but I don't think it would've been more than a few weeks.

But I think her birthday's in October, right? And that's a few episodes after this, so it would be September in the pilot.

The only time I actively disliked her was the whole vow renewal thing and even then, I could see she thought she was looking out for Lorelai, but… ugh.

Right?
Wear yesterday's clothes rather than Daisy Duke it up.

Pretty much all my favourite scenes are Lorelai/Emily.
Their relationship was so well thought out.

Mainly Graham though.
I always thought Bledel looked like she was struggling with the pace.
She's a decent actress and PERFECT for Rory, but yeah.

TRYING to be. Key word there is 'trying'.

Eurgh, she was insufferable towards the end.
Not always, but often.
I always hated her in the episode set in Martha's Vineyard, where she's pretending to be middle-aged for no reason.

@Automocar:disqus , we'll all meet behind the church, come nightfall. Now go! They're on to us.

You liked Digger?
You're like the only one I've heard/seen say/write that!
I didn't think he deserved all the hate slung his way, he was a decent character.
