Stevie Wonder shared a few political views with the audience, but I suspect most of the local people in the audience were receptive to his message.  (If they could hear it.)  It's pretty hard to describe being in the audience for a legend like Stevie Wonder.  You're just elevated to another plane…

It is tragic that the only member who won't be replaced is the singer.

Cool!
I've been reading programming books for the last three months and couldn't participate in WUIB. I've already Scanner so I can jump in for this one!

Better Than C-
I'm only 15 hours into the game, but the new ATB system is an improvement over FF XII's ADB system. You can't really criticize the new game's battle system as a "single button masher" and then compare it to a predecessor that didn't even require button mashing once you set up Gambits. ATB and the

He was definitely allowed the roam the grounds, but I also wonder if the cliff climb was real. Also - how much of the "hurricane" really happened?

Book Club Vacation
I'm getting deep into a Maurice Blanchot compilation and will be missing out on this WUIB selection.

9/11 was the black swan event that deflated people that weren't directly impacted by the dot-com bust. That day had an impact on the collective, and I think it's appropriate for the timeline in this book.

Somewhat Mixed Reaction
The spine of my book features a single word reaction from Stephen King - "Hilarious!" I found this book less hilarious as I progressed through the turmoil, and I'm not sure if I fully appreciate the themes that blossom darkly through the end.

There is too much cheese and sacrilege for me to deny. I have to check it out.

Authentic Drama
I hesitate to describe any of the character events as melodramatic. I don't think anybody's reactions were exaggerated or untrue. Tom Mota might be an exception but I'm starting to warm up to his Clown Episode.

I'm not sure America matured and confronted a harsh new reality after the dot-com collapse. The American Collective licked our wounds for a few years and then bought into the House Bubble. (I wonder if Joe Pope worked on any ad campaigns for those wonderful home refinance loans packages!)

I agree. I'd like to see a schedule of the rest of the topics, though. I don't want to go off-topic, but there are some items that I'd like to discuss before the week is over.

The 'buckshelf'/office furniture hierarchy dispute was a selling point for me, too. I enjoyed the exploration of emotions associated with the chairs, especially when the company was deep in layoffs.

For We Are Many…
I was surprised the first person plural narrative was not strained or contrived. Like Donna I found this format easy and breezy, and I enjoyed cycling through the characters like stations on a radio dial. Unfortunately I couldn't tune into a specific character to help carry me through the rest of

The book seems like an adaptation of a miniseries. I'd watch it.

Under The Dome reads like an adaptation of a movie or mini-series. I enjoyed the book while I read it, but the experience is quickly evaporating out of my head.

IDK. Whenever I eat at Taco Bell the poop forecast is Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.

Last!
A co-worker pointed out that the symbol on the box in the orchard is the same symbol on the door to the egg chamber in IT.

I gotta go with the Left. The Fragile, The Frail, The Wretched, the song from Terminator Salvation. Pure awesomesauce, that disc.

I agree. The Year Zero / Ghosts sections were amazing and demonstrated a new vision of industrial rock for the future. I'm really disappointed that Trent decided to stop touring… Also disappointed with his increasingly douchey tweets. WTF!
