I agree that the wolf was pretty on the nose but I'd like to note a curious respect in which it's not quite as on the nose as you might suspect: the wolf won its fight. It was injured and limping but, unlike Jack, the wolf had won. When it retires to the cave it does so without fear. Jack is full of fear when he

Lefties, myself included, need to sort out the tension between their preference for rehabilitative justice and their boundless disdain for sexual misconduct. These two attitudes conflict, perhaps irreconcilably. Should Affleck get run out of town? That's not rehabilitative, and it just pushes the ball further down the

Good episode. It has left us with two lingering questions: (1) how Thrawn will use Kallus and (2) how Kallus' change to the map will affect Thrawn's plans. It would be nice for Thrawn to get tricked, even once, by the Rebels, and his mistake with the map might be exactly that. The parallels between Thrawn and Crasses

Thrawn is very similar to the character Crassus from 'Spartacus'. He takes blows as they come while always keeping his eye on the larger picture. This makes him pretty frightening because any apparent 'loss' could eventually be leveraged into a larger gain, and any apparent gain smells like the pawns moving into place

This review is pretty spot on about the pacing. The hurried pace of the game, which mirrors the growing crescendo in the game's narrative, can feel out of place. But the game is much stronger than its predecessor on all the mechanical points, and does a lot to flesh out the world and advance the saga.

The Geonosis storyline struck me as strongly reminiscent of the Reavers storyline from Firefly. In the Firefly movie, Serenity, the crew discovers an abandoned planet that was inexplicably without any living people at all. The mysterious planet is ultimately evidence of a massive crime, and is used to curry favour for

Stray Observation:

More like Sand Snores, amirite?

Eh.. so says Anakin's mother. But as they say about Mary: what's more likely, a virgin birth or that a Tatooinian minx told a lie?

I think Boyhood is the best film of the year and a stand-out classic generally. I think it's due so much credit for two reasons.

'I can believe person A or person B. Since A alleged that X occurred, and I cannot verify beyond my arbitrary standard of doubt that X is correct, I must believe B.'

Agreed. I loved the Hiest series. Short, sweet, hilarious, and sometimes even exciting.

For sure! Star Wars can sometimes feel starved of kickass women, especially ones that aren't somehow bound up with a handsome fellow.

Not even the stuff from the Clone Wars series? They gesture towards a lot of Mandalorian history in that show, although I don't remember many details now.

Great episode, excellent review. Something that hasn't been touched on too much is the relationship between Ezra and Sabine. They're clearly a nascent romantic plot, of some kind, but I hope the writers take it in a more interesting direction than romance. She seems far too interesting to 'need' a romantic interest,

"Hughdleston"

I think he'll consider her as a viable vice-presidential candidate: military background, controls congress, connections all over the place, part of his wider posse, etc.

I got a real Star Wars cantina vibe there

To fill in some blanks:

Do we have any explanation for closing down vampire businesses and doing anything except distributing blood from public health reserves?  I don't understand :(
