I suggested in a comment a few articles back that Ragnar has some definite Heath Ledger vibes.  I want to add to that that Ragnar is also a trans-fictional-universe brother from another mother to Khal Drogo.

Was anybody else expecting Lucretia to come out from behind a ballista and perform a surprise caesarian on Caesar?

I found the camera shaking really bothersome this episode.  It felt common in a bad way, which is unfortunate for a show that has done quite well to go off the beaten path when it can.

Ragnar is really reminding me of Heath Ledger in some of these scenes, it's a bit spooky

Possible Allusion:

For the artwork fans: the animation of Archer and Lana's faces on the glass while they're suction-cupping their way up the building are quite beautiful, even for this show's standards.

My first thought was confident Brad Pitt from Fight Club fights, but that works as well.

Thing to watch: I think that Caesar is trying to play it like Brad Pitt.  Especially in his private scene with Tiberius.

I'd love just a few episodes of coverage for this.  I'm unsure whether to invest in another adventure of swordery in addition to Spartacus right now.

There was no law against raping your own slaves, but there were laws about harming or violating somebody else's slaves (because they're a form of property).

Every episode, for the past plenty, I've found myself muttering 'goddamit Naevia…' and tonight was no exception.
