Magic Hat 3: The Burtoning

Also, Space-Polyphemus the space-cyclops was duped and blinded by Space-Odysseus, who then foolishly revealed his real space-name, and Space-Polyphemus called upon his father Space-Poseidon, god of the space-sea, to harry Space-Odysseus on his space-journey.

Thanks for pointing this out.  I absolutely love the two troll entries (I assume) at the bottom of the "greatest conservative movies" list, under the heading "Debatable Whether Great":

I agree that Cache is a modern masterpiece, and it's one of my favourite films of all time and basically the reason why I would champion Haneke's inclusion on any list of great directors.  I haven't had a chance to view Amour yet but am looking to do so very soon.  I think it would be awesome if Amour won Best

I have, and it's easily one of my favourite episodes of Fawlty Towers.

@avclub-5bc6960dad8ab0694bb4d6ff884b0c1e:disqus , but Haneke's Austrian, so he's probably used to that kind of thing happening all the time.

I tend to think that the most unintentionally amusing thing about it is that he says he's been making comedy since he was 5, given that his films all seem to have been created by five-year-olds for the enjoyment of other five-year-olds.

He'll be attending the bitching party on Joaquin Phoenix's luxury yacht instead.

Midnight Cowboy.

If that happened (which would be awesome), I don't think that Haneke would be able to resist a little "In your FACE, Spielberg!"

A best director Oscar for Haneke would be amazing.  I think I'll watch this year's telecast just to see the look on his Saruman-like face when Spielberg wins it.

@avclub-33beffd09a1b020d1187c6b4b264014a:disqus , one of my favourite comic strips ever is a Frank and Ernest where Rene Descartes meets Pee-wee Herman: "I think, therefore I am." "I know you are, but what am I?"

@avclub-0592cd603d4801529227f55223d0d612:disqus , I'm killing my eyes!
