Every true Dave fan knows that the album is called "Crash", and the song is "Crash into Me"…

Yeah, you are on to something. No Country for Old Men and The Road worked so well as films because the dialogue is mostly plain-spoken and almost utilitarian, save for the occassional well-placed Tommy Lee Jones aside in No Country. The poetic/philosophical elements behind those stories come naturally. Here it's like…
The Act of Killing left me totally emotionally drained. I've read some pretty horrific accounts of genocide and other atrocities, but this documentary was an altogether different and singular experience. The most unnerving aspect was that by getting such an intimate view of Anwar and the other killers, you realize…
Would it kill her to let some vodka go bad?
Yes, YES! We are so lame!
Spend an hour listening to Neil's MTV Unplugged album straight through. Amazing versions of some of his best songs, spanning his whole career: Pocahontas, Helpless, Long May you Run, Stringman, Harvest Moon, Like a Hurricane, etc.
Dan Deacon deserves some love here. Gliss Riffer is a beautiful album and nobody seemed to really give it the time of day. The songs reveal more and more each time you listen. DD is a mad scientist.
'Jizzy Gillespie' takes the cake
dun dun, DUN DUN, dun dun, DU-dun dun dun
That line is so weird and so great.
I was much more emotional at the end of the show last night than I thought I would be. I haven't watched Letterman regularly for probably a decade or more. But watching last night (and this past week) took me back to being a kid, when my dad would let me sneak downstairs past my bed time to watch the monologue and the…
The A.V. Club: Endless Slap Fights
I once starred in an all-black production of "Oklahoma!", it was called "Alabama!"
Here, here. My biggest worry when Todd left was that they wouldn't be able to find someone who could dig as deeply into shows like Mad Men. But Teti has been every bit as good as Todd, if not slightly better.
The Peggy/Roger scenes were tremendous. Their back and forth about how they would remember SC&P was perfect. Peggy seemed to acknowledge how this office and this job has completely sucked the life out of her in many ways, but at the same time she has learned so much and grown as a person (for better and for worse).…
Oh man, forgot about this one! Fully agreed. Absolutely amazing guitar work from Doug on this one
That's fucked up. I had heard Doug got the analogy from a college professor he had. Either way, it's hell of an image.
I'm with ya on that. But then I also think…as Velvet Waltz is about to end Out of Site is coming up, followed by the untouchable one-two knockout of Kicked it in the Sun and Untrustable to close it out.
There's Nothing Wrong with Love and Keep It Like a Secret were the gateway drugs for me.
Here's Mine (probably well over an hour but fuck it):
