The Robinson Family on the Jupiter II would already be halfway there — having launched in 1997 — if it wasn't for that damned Dr. Smith, who they should have jettisoned early on. So a lot of the blame is on them.

So I guess that makes him a dick. This is not a surprise.

His lyrics lack a lot of the depth and literary skill you can find in even a mid-level poet. And while some of it can be seen as expressing a "humanitarian" viewpoint, a large portion of it is simply about relationships gone wrong.
