No beer until you finish your tequila!

He could also be a stripper, like the late Earl Warren!

He likes his beer cold, his TV loud, and his homosexuals fa-laaaaaming.

It also gave us the surprisingly useful phrase "grappling with local oaf."

Keep looking shocked, and move slowly toward the cake

They don't really talk about that, actually. Groening isn't in the commentary, but they never really address the subject of why not.

Sor-ry! Next time get your own darn corn!

There's a much later episode — one of the ones where Ned and Edna Krabappel are married — that has them going to a religious school until Edna pulls them out of it, but they're definitely shown going to Springfield Elementary a few times in the earlier seasons. Better start saving now — they're very expensive!

13 in 2001 = 27 years old. Which isn't too cringeworthy. People who were 5 when it happened are just out of high school (I just had a class of seniors that included a huge GWB fanboy, so I did that particular bit of mental math to figure out if 9/11 explained it. I dunno, maybe he just has really conservative parents).
