NBC''s campaign to have the weirdest schedule certainly looks like it's on the right track.

It's not like she was forced to make the Twilight movies with a gun to her head. The books were a known quantity, the audience was a known quantity, the role was a known quantity, the bags of money that were going to be dumped in front of her door each morning were a known quantity. I can't really feel too bad for…

Nice to see that NBC is throwing everything they can think of at the wall in the hopes that something kind of sort of sticks. Fuck the whole thoughtfully-developing-good-shows thing. HOW CAN WE MAKE THOMAS EDISON INTO BATMAN WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY MAKING A PROCEDURAL ABOUT HANNIBAL LECTOR?

Given that the movie is based on 'Team of Rivals,' I'd hope that it displays Lincoln in all of his beautiful complexity. As for sentimental and fake, outside of the score on the trailer, I don't think the thing seems overly sentimental. We see lots of quiet Lincoln melancholy brooding.

But why would he get off on it at all? Is he an idiot? This takes place on a national televised documentary being seen by millions of people when he still has all the appeals in the world left. It makes absolutely no sense to be cracking some weird joke(?) about how you are getting your jollies because the…

Chances very slim that TDKR gets anything other than technical nominations. Maybe they throw Nolan a bone with a directing nomination, or maybe it somehow slips into the Best Picture stable because of the 10 nominations thing in that category, but I really don't see either of those things happening.

Mallory's response to the question "Why climb Everest?" is one of my favorite quotes by any human being ever. "Because it's there." Fuck yeah.
