I like the weird accents on this show, especially for the mysterious characters like Petyr or Melisandre. Especially Melisandre, in fact; her accent is so perfectly off in the same way she is.

I think the unofficial rule is that a band tends to write original songs, or at least play their own instruments, whereas a 'girl band' or 'boy band' are just a bunch of attractive singers and dancers. That's why we bother using the qualifier of 'boy' when referring to N*SYNC as a band. It's probably The Beatles'…
If ever I'm running somewhere, for whatever reason, the opening of Backstreet Boys' The Call will play briefly in my head.
It's really weird how he shows up for the badge ceremony thing, clearly having just got back from Paradise Falls because he's still all dirty, and his mother is in the audience just clapping happily. Doesn't she have even a few questions?!

Although I honestly was nowhere near as much of an idiot as any of The Inbetweeners when it came to social situations, one thing that show pulls off very well is the way British high schoolers talk to each other; mainly, the sheer amount of swearing. It always bugged me how even in fairly realistic high school movies…
Replied to the wrong person, sorry. But After Hours is indeed great.
This is what The Tree of Life did for me. I watched it all the way through one day, alone in a dark room, and was just shocked. It made me want to go outside and kiss the ground to celebrate existence. I was raised by staunchly atheist parents but my two older sisters converted to Christianity in their teens, and my…
Freaks & Geeks really accurately captures how fickle high school friendships and groups can actually be. It's crazy how quickly you'll ditch the best friends you'd have died for a week ago, who seemed like the coolest people on Earth, and immediately change basically everything about yourself when you find a new…
Do you think maybe it's just easier for actors, generally speaking, to do accents when playing a part? Maybe working really hard on an accent and changing your voice to such a great extent helps them get into character and really become someone else, or at least, helps viewers see them this way, as the character…
Flimshaw!
Can't believe how long it took me to notice that post-op Kitty's nipples were deliberately, horribly lopsided.
Hearing a Beatles song in any movie or TV show is such a delightful rarity. Mad Men's use was the best since Ferris Bueller.
I agree with everything you said here!
@avclub-736c1908fbbb3c33c217dff33ec717ee:disqus In what way is Dr Schultz a lead role? He unceremoniously dies a two-thirds of the way into the film. If anything, you could say he was playing a lead role in Basterds, but I don't see how you could for Django.
Well yeah, but if it must be remade, that's certainly the only way they'd get me to buy a ticket.
Thankfully is right, dude! It's my personal favourite Russell-Carpenter collaboration. So bizarre and such a product of its time that it's basically remake-proof.
They remade The Fog?
Kurt Russell as Jack Burton is just one of my favourite action heroes ever. I never thought of it as Russell's John Wayne impression so much, but he's certainly in there. Jack's basically a broad parody of every action movie lead who ever existed.
Starring in Escape, Big Trouble and The Thing alone, he's more than earned it, surely?
