Also, I hope he does a screen adaptation of Death of Bunny Munro, because though it's a damn fine book, it also seems like it's begging to be a screenplay.

Love these episodes
Root beer jacuzzi and "I walk that line every Saturday night" are two of the best lines ever in the show. I love these episodes because they're so based on sitcom convention that all the writing energy can go to the characters, to the insane lines that pretty much only these characters can say. It

FUCK YEAH
If this is one tenth as awesome as The Proposition or his rejected script to Gladiator 2, this will totally kick ass.

Some more
Sally MacLennane by The Pogues is about a bunch of sad sacks dying, yet it's got one of their bouncy-est melodies ever, aka it's super goddamn bouncy.

Warren Zevon
Fitting that before he took sick, he liked to cover "If You Don't Love Me (I'll Kill Myself)." The man loved his swinging numbers about death.

This show is amazing.
Four episodes in a row, all absolute fucking winners. Really on a roll.

Where do you people find these stories?
Do you just read every press release Syfy spams you with?

For the record, I like Pulp Fiction and don't feel he plagiarized anything. I just thought Mystery Train seems like a major influence.

I dunno, ask ICP. They also do wrestling!

I think Limits of Control was sort of misunderstood. I enjoyed it a lot in the same way that I enjoy a lot of ambient post-rock - it's a fascinating and hypnotic combination of audios and visuals, a gorgeous looking and sounding film that lingered with me for quite awhile after I saw it. I'll probably never watch it

Also
Is it just me or does this movie bear a LOT of similarities to Pulp Fiction? Or am I imagining that?

Joe Strummer
Joe is great in this movie. The tension in that one scene at the liquor store is brilliant.

AND I DON'T WANNA TALK TO A SCIENTIST

OH GOD THE OUTFITS
WHY DID WOMEN NEVER WEAR SKIRTS THAT SHORT IN THE OFFICES I WORKED AT, DAMN IT THIS SHOW IS AWESOME, AND WHY DID NONE OF THEM LOOK LIKE LAUREN GRAHAM OR MAURA TIERNEY

Listen, I know shitholes. I lived in Bakersfield most of my life and regularly commuted to Modesto, Merced, and Fresno. Those cities make Stockton look almost awesome.

I'll probably just swing by the venue the night of and see if there are any friendly scalpers.

OH SHIT
I'm in Stockton that week. Too bad by then all the tickets will be sold out and everything on stubhub will be over $150. Fuckers.

"Jimmy James: Live At Budokan," further establishing his fondness for Cheap Trick.

I also bust every time I hear "Monkey clown horrible karate browned…" because of the way Jimmy is so exasperated as he reads one non sequitur nonsense word after another that takes 6 words to sound anything like a sentence.

These two episodes are what I point to when I try to explain what a shame it is that Stephen Root's not more famous. He could be on level with Philip Seymore Hoffman as a character actor.
