I like the acid scene. It's fun to watch Duvall pretend to do acid. And there's some tension early in the scene that's really enjoyable.

I was really impressed by this album. It's not great, but it's acceptable and identifiable as a Stooges album, which after The Weirdness I thought was completely impossible. The songs are stump stupid, but Iggy's always been stump stupid as a lyricist so it doesn't bug me much. Burn is almost Raw Power-tier in

Brilliant country musicians who are alive and well:
-Billy Joe Shaver
-Merle Haggard
-Ray Wylie Hubbard
-Hayes Carll
-Willie Nelson
-Guy Clark
-James McMurtry
-Joe Ely
-Anything that falls into the orbit of the Drive-By Truckers

This was surprisingly fun and solid. Definitely not a crushingly sad fiasco like The Weirdness was.

Seasonal reminder that the sessions for Cut The Crap pegged it as essentially a Give 'Em Enough Rope follow-up, with lots of great songs that didn't make the album (Jericho, In The Pouring Rain etc). The reason Cut The Crap is horrible is because Bernie Rhodes essentially fired the band and did a bunch of drugs and

Seek out the Acton Town Hall live album, where Mick Jones plays on the encore. It's a nice balance of re-arranged Clash songs and grittier renditions of Mescaleros stuff.

His appearances on O&A cement his legacy as one of the funniest dudes who ever did stand-up. Funnier than a lot of his peers, Louis CK included. Shame his stand-up career was so poorly documented up until last year.

Is Patrice O'Neal funny enough to justify seeing this at the dollar theater?

I like the Knitters' live version a whole hell of a lot more than the studio version. Dave's mean, giant solo that builds into The Battle Hymn of the Republic before he goes back into the main riff is a bit of a classic rock trope, but it's inspired. The Knitters are an awesome live band, but I suspect it's a losing

Only a real drunk Mike Watt could answer this verification question: what's the best liquor store out there down Pedro way?

That photo you ran with this story is years old because it's got the late Ron Asheton instead of James Williamson.

Wouldn't it be funny/unsurprising if this was actually Mike Watt?
