I'm still pissed about Deadwood and Carnivale.

a number of comedians I don't find funny can be good dramatic actors others have already mentioned
Luke Perry on the show OZ (i swear! he was actually not bad!)
Ted Danson on Bored to Death
John Wayne in "Red River" and "The Searchers"
Melanie Griffith in "Something Wild"
Treat Williams in "Prince of the City"
Richard

I watched Lee Daniel's first films "Shadowboxer" based on Nathan Rabin's recommendation:

I need to give King of Limbs another chance i suppose..

AWESOME episode. a couple thoughts not related to the events of this season finale.
I had this conversation with my ex-girlfriend who I watched a lot of shows with about shows with amoral protagonists: Breaking Bad, Sopranos, and Dexter (not as good as the previous 2 but hey the 1st 2 seasons were good)….why is it

I haven't seen either version of "Free Agents" yet but I noticed this picture on the main page of the actress Sharon Horgan( the girl on left up top) who previously starred in the bbc series "Pulling" which is on netflix instant and I've been watching it. It's really funny and dark so far but I have can't find anyone

This is the same guy that wears "CHE" shirts, but makes shitloads of money on movies based on theme park rides so maybe noone should be taking him too seriously. Seriously, it's hilarious how liberal movie stars are when they work in one of the most capitalistic industries on the planet.

Thanks for at least accknowledging what I said before the last part about community college which was supposed to be a joke playing into the usual snark these kinds of posts get (where one gets called a trustfund anarchist/neo-hippie/paultard/nader/kunich-dork/college socialist whatever)

What I meant by tea partiers

I'm still waiting for all this socialism the right is so scared of since Obama took office. and Gitmo being closed. and weed laws being at least relaxed. and the wars….oh, fuck it.

I vaguely remember him on the old "Siskel/Ebert" or "Ebert/Roeper" show conceding he'd been initially wrong about "Plains, Trains and Automobiles" and that now he liked the film.

Ebert didn't think "There Will Be Blood" was that great and that Day-Lewis' performance was too inspired by John Huston's voice and persona. Do not agree with that one.

Maybe this is because I've had a friend who loved him and one who hated him but I think Ebert is either overpraised or undervalued. He's championed cool underseen films that really are great just as often as he "didn't get" a film. There are plenty of examples of both, people could mention here.

Grace Kelly was too perfect  for me. I prefer the damaged Hitchcock blondes of the ones I selected but that probably says more about me then any of these films.

My favorites (in no order):
Lovers on the Bridge (Carax)
Thieves like Us (Altman)
Punch-Drunk Love (Anderson)
Buffallo '66 (Gallo)
Sunrise (Mureau)
Happy Together (Kar-Wai)
At Home at the End of the World(dunno the director but Colin Farrell and Robin Wright r in it)
The Important Thing is to Love (Zulawski)
The Dreamers

Roman Polanski is an amazing director…one of the best of his generation. He also raped a girl and should be puished. Why are these sentiments so divided for a lot people?(not saying that about people on here who I'm sure appreciate his work but condemn his actions all the same but elsewhere…) It seems like people

There already is a dash of irony to watching "Manhattan" nowadays. Woody Allen's character dates Mariel Hemingway, who is underage at the time, and Allen seems to be the only one in the movie who has a problem with the age difference. Every time he frets about it to his friends, they shrug it off: "Why are you

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyone know where i can watch this online free? i don't have bbc and this show is the only of the recent "MadMen inspired" shows that looks interesting..

I think "For a Few Dollars More" is my fave in the trilogy (though "Once Upon a Time in the West" trumps them all) but the only scene "…More" I don't like is the one where Eastwood and Cleef shoot each others hats off and into the air. That scene is such stupid macho bullshit. You except macho in westerns but that was

As a follower of the "auteur theory" I follow directors more then actors in my watching trends…I may have to forgo that one and just watch anything Byran Cranston does…."Drive" on friday….a great episode of "Breaking Bad" on sunday Wow that awesome (actually forget that, that would mean I'd have to watch "Malcom in
