I don't mind it if they win 5 in a row to get to TOC, but then I want something new. I wish they still limited the number of wins to 5 for that reason

especially since after he answered "House of Wax" (which was prior to him telling the story about the wax museum) I thought to myself that he kind of looked like he could be in a wax museum (which is really mean but I don't really intend it to be mean)

I wrote a grant application for that big fund last year (I work at an animal shelter). It was really weird to keep writing "Lil Bub" over and over in a grant application. We didn't get the grant :-( But I still love Lil Bub

Man, I watched the pilot on demand one weekend because look at some of that cast — Thomas Lennon! Dave Foley! The black dude who's name I don't know that was on that crappy Michael J Fox show and is funny and deserves to be on a good show! The female actress interested in Felix is pretty funny too! I laughed exactly

he was such an ass to Doug! Way to rub it in, Trebek!

you were a fantastic player! You were the first person to give Alex a true run for his money. great game

oh, i've been meaning to watch Grandma's House because I really liked Amstell on Buzzcocks, but totally forgot about it!

My first thought at reading that line!

I think he actually is supposed to be a toddler

I'm positive he knew it and just completely blanked. It happens to me sitting on the couch, so I'm sure it happens when you are under the hot lights and in front of an audience. I'm sure he's kicked himself over it

Plus, that was a lot to write for a final, so I'm glad they gave it to her, since she obviously knew it and the other player that bothered to try an answer did not

He's definitely one of the most strategic players I've seen (I'll be honest that I never paid much attention to strategy until reading this thread). I noticed that he stopped ringing in once he couldn't be caught, something I think actually takes a lot of restraint. And he's made FJ a non-factor in both his games.

I felt his pain, because I knew the answer but could not for the life of me come up with it until the last second, and I could tell he knew it but was just blanking

I had to look away too. It was amazingly graphic for something they didn't actually show (the sound effects were quite, uh, effective)

Anatoly made me think of a cut-rate Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

I think Tom and Lorenzo called him this in their review of the first episode over on their blog.

they'll link to the TV review (which is different from the episode recaps) from WOTs even if they don't continue any coverage of the show

I didn't really notice the scratching, until my friend texted me and pointed it out. Then it was all I could notice

He looked like he was stoned and wandered in off the street, startled to find himself in a game of jeopardy. It was such a slow paced game, I was startled to find him with such a commanding lead.

I came here basically to say this. It makes it so much more real, since Matt isn't a superpowered hero like Thor or Cap, he's a real guy with a lot of training. They never show characters getting tired in a fight, but everyone in that scene got slower and more winded as it went on. Nice touch
