The naked mole rat lead me to discussion (i.e., lecture about) both their interesting social behavior and their sensory systems with the guy I recently started dating who was watching Jeopardy with me for the first time. He thinks it's super hot when I'm all science nerdy (thank goodness)

I was trying to remember the name of this movie earlier this week! Watched it a bunch after taping off the TV. I've probably never seen an uncut version. Total 80s kid

The Princess Bride for movies and The Handmaid's Tale for literature

that looked amazing. Then I wondered how the poor horse was going to get back down

seriously! I can't believe that was a triple stumper

I never want to be on Jeopardy because of how I could be treated on the internet. People are mean, especially when they can be anonymous

I'm going to be honest and say that I heard the story while in a traffic jam and running late, so my attention wasn't complete. Didn't they discuss some coerced sex happening between the leader and cult members?

I think as long as you have a degree from a school, you are an alumnus. As I get phone calls, emails, and snail mail from both alumni offices of the universities where I earned my undergraduate and my graduate degrees, those schools agree too.

Based on the interview I heard on NPR today, it wasn't so innocent. I don't want to spoil anything for the super spoiler averse, which is why I'm being cryptic, but here's a link if you are interested http://www.npr.org/2016/05/…

run on sentences are one of the hallmarks of Ryan's cult

So terrible! And Jerry Orbach was so good in the original too :-(

I have a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in "The Book of Love." My favorite is probably "Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side" but I have no idea how to determine what's underrated since I know few people that have even heard of the Magnetic Fields

I thought Vermont touched Ontario, too. And I live by Lake Ontario. I suck at geography

I realized tonight that Buzzy looks a lot like a guy a knew in grad school (actually, this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…. Honestly, I'm not sure if that made me like him more or less

Good to know, but if you can bring yourself to read his stuff again, I can't recommend "One Summer" enough

My favorite song of theirs, and stuck in my head since I read this news this morning

It is only the third of his that I've read (One Summer and A Walk in the Woods are the others), and I've really enjoyed all 3. I have hard that some of his books definitely aren't up to these. I will add Blue Latitudes to my list, thank you!

How did I miss that it was him? Clearly, I just need to watch again

I just finished In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson and I could not put it down. I was sad to finish it, which I rarely feel about nonfiction books. I really want to visit Australia now! I am now reading The Goldfinch and I have Ransom by David Malouf on the way. I also picked up a copy of The Virgin Suicides,

hahahaha….yes!
