they threw snowballs at Santa, too. The best part about that story is the skinny dude they dressed as Santa said he would have thrown snowballs too, because he was a shit Santa

the idea of the need for an insane asylum for people working on the line at a doll head factory is why I love this show

I see what you did there!

"preying in a church" instead of "praying in a church" in relation to the Berenstain Bears conjuring a hilarious image in my mind

yeah, I love this miniseries so freaking much. I'm not even sure how many times I have seen it. The last scene is one of the most romantic things I've ever seen on film. However, most of the people I've mentioned it to think I'm talking about the one with Patrick Swayze.

yeah, Downton Abbey is trying to kill all the N&S love I have for Brendan Coyle

I might have to start watching this show. I have a hopeless crush on RA, thanks entirely to North & South (not so much as a dwarf)

he'll cut your heart out with a spoon!

the dinner table scene in that episode is stone cold classic

O'Brien was so delightfully wicked, and Finneran was so amazing in that role. I miss her too, and miss her interactions with Thomas

my assumption was that it was a condom, which were reusable in those days (hence Anna asking Mary whether or not Gillingham should have taken care of it).

"But she doesn’t sound like she’s asking, nor does she sound sorry." Two things I don't think Mary Crawley is capable of doing

I think if it was happening today, then she would put 2 and 2 together. But for the time, I don't think her mind would go there regarding a noblewoman — look how long it took for Anna to pick up on the consequence to which Mary was referring.

indeed, but I was imagining Jess my age now :-) sigh

i think you're right and Drew's reaction was spot on —his grandfather could have died, and the last interaction they had was a negative one. that's tough for a 19 year old kid (or anyone)

you know adult Jess would be awesome

the same thought about the timing crossed my mind. their security alarm/company is useless if it takes that long to respond

she doesn't seem to like him all that much. they have a weird relationship that isn't just weird because of Hank's social issues

yes! I actually like FNL more than Parenthood (which I do like quite a bit, although most of this season prior to this episode annoyed me). The football is mostly just metaphor

i guess kids can't go to the beach or public swimming pools anymore
