my first exposure was his screed against Gould, which someone posted in the comments section of a staff picks article a few months ago (one of the picks was Gould's book that was the subject of Champion's ire). We had an interesting discussion in the comments about it. Any good points he wanted to make as a critic

considering that I barely remember that there was an episode with her parents (I vaguely remembered something to do with a leaf), I think that is a fair enough point :-)

I thought we had an episode early in clara's run that showed her parents with her as a child, but that they had since died? (not arguing that we don't have much of her backstory with you —- I think you are right — but just being a pedant)

I was thinking about how accurate the TARDIS is now and wondering when that happened. It wasn't just inaccurate in the old series — it was so bad in the 9th doctor's hands that he never seemed to get to where/when he actually intended. And now the TARDIS is so accurate, he can take her 30 seconds before her date, and

world's deadliest parkour

they had half day at Army that day

I thought he specifically said his grandmother was a time traveller. Yeah, they never explicitly stated that he's talking about Clara, but this show isn't exactly into subtlety

Orson specifically said his grandmother was the time traveller

yeah, i was a bit shocked at the severed hand. I was trying to remember if a death was quite like that before on Who and can't think of one. People are usually disintegrated/de-atomized or turned into a monster (i'm thinking specifically of Waters of Mars, which I thought the was particularly scary for the

we've had 2 mothers (Martha's and Donna's) that didn't trust the Doctor, and they were both terrible characters. I'm not saying I wouldn't be ok with what you wrote, but just pointing out that it has happened before and it was just as bad as a jealous s/o

except they've already set up that they have children (they are Orson Pink's grandparents), so I don't see how they could die in their final episode (unless it is one of those DW deaths that he negates by saving the world or something extravagant)

sure does. and not just the young ones. a spanish teacher in my high school still liked the tight sweaters and pencil skirts, and she was a lot older than Clara. She always reminded me of Patsy from AbFab (just the way she looked, not her personality, although the thought of Pats teaching high school is hilarious)

It would be completely realistic that either Zeek dies from the health problems that have been present since the start of the series, or Kristina relapses. I think I've just been trained by TV and movies to expect it not to be the most obvious one. However, I'm usually pleasantly surprised by this show but not going

as a fellow curly-haired woman, I think Haddie's teenage struggles with her curly hair is one of the most realistic things this show has done ;-)

that would be cool as a way to show that, just like everybody else, people with Asperger's have different personalities. But that would mean more Max screentime, which is bad

Not as often as I'd like! But I know someone else named Ann that I make that joke about and no one gets it :-( My co-workers are disappointingly lacking in their Arrested Development knowledge.

Adam crossed my mind as well.

I think I got Raggedy Ann every now and then, especially when I was with a particular friend who was named Andy.

Max was completely awful this episode, and it is such a shame that one of the few TV characters that has Asperger's (and is said to on the show, not just implied lie Sheldon Cooper) is such a crappy person. The show likes to blame it on the Aspergers, but really it is because he is spoiled rotten.

at least this way I get to have eyes!
