I can't really blame him. If someone says to me "Here's my thesis film." I immediately assume it's going to be some really awful, amateurish attempt to be insightful and arty. You might have had more luck saying "Here's a comedy I made with some friends." and left the word "thesis" out of it.

As someone who was a big fan of B5 and thought it was great when I originally watched the entire series (though the later seasons did some stuff that infuriated me even then) let me be the first to say; it just doesn't hold up.
