You know what's criminally underrated?

This whole declaring a moritorium on "meh" is stupid.

@Judge Reinhold - I always went for the X-Men over Avengers. Avengers were like the cool kids of super heroes. They had all the support from the public and tons of tech and money. X-Men were freaks who only had Professor X's money keeping them afloat. When they went to Australia they didn't even have that.

I google imaged her and went, "BLEH!"

Tennant was a great Doctor, but Smith is better. And it's not just the writing. In fact, I think we cut Tennant a lot of slack BECAUSE of the writing. I'm not entirely certain he has the chops to really pull off anything more than he gave us.

@Chryso - Peter Pan ending? Call it by it's proper name and give "Floaty Jesus Doctor" the respect it deserves! Which is little to none!

I heard somewhere that Beast Below was an old Who script from the 80's that they retrofitted for this season. It makes sense given all the odd cool bits that don't really fit together to make a cohesive episode.

I wanted an "Ooh. I'd quite like a hat like that." right before he grabbed the fez.

That two-parter was actually written by Paul Cornell and was originally a Doctor Who novel…8th Doctor I think? RTD liked the novel and asked him to adapt it for the show.

@ Lord Wednseday…

It's definitely very evocative of Lost. That last sequence.

I agree. It's a tiny bit of letdown, but still A- territory. But only once it was over. While engaged with it, I thought the 2nd half was great fun and it was only after watching the whole thing that its sheen wore off a little.

I got Charles Dickens while purposely trying to write like a combination of Poe and Lewis Carroll.

@tibber - R+ J is 100% Luhrmann. And that movie is a giant clusterfuck of awful. The only decent thing from it was the soundtrack. "Post Haste" as a Fed Ex delivery service and Romeo doesn't get the message because he doesn't see the delivery slip? Get fucked, Baz.

There's a special place in Hell for people who bring babies to movie theaters.

I agree with you, Shitty Screenwriter. They absolutely destroy the pace and flow. I was always told that putting camera angles and interjections into a script is the absolute worst thing you can do.

I, Robot
That's a really interesting "what could have been". I got a copy of the screenplay from The Sci-Fi Book club years ago. It's very good despite needing a third act rewrite. It's Citizen Kane reworked with the short stories filling in the flashback sequences.

@fragokun, she got emotionally withdrawn and cold when she got pissed, so sadly the latter.

I think we did that one already.

I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen!
