Favorite Screams
The screams in The Way I Walk are some of my favorites in punk/rock. Total slasher flick victim.

The Lebowski bowling ball packaging (similar to the Total Recall Mars ball mentioned, I guess) actually prevented me from buying it as a gift. Great movie, but I didn't want to give someone a tacky unnecessarily cumbersome piece of plastic crap.

Beatles Haters
I worked with a guy who hated The Beatles. "They killed Motown," was the reason he gave. Most arguments against The Beatles' greatness are just contrarian devil's advocacy, but he was sincere. Didn't wanna here them at all.

I've had friends rave about it and recommend it to me. I watched the first two or three episodes and I wasn't hooked. It was fine. I just didn't see it as transcendent.

Yeah, I recently left a dismissive comment about musicals in response to an article about some legendary Broadway performer stopping the show to yell at a rude audience member.

I put forth these very broad theories about the replenishing Dharma food packages from the sky:

Take your time with the review.

That's supposed to say "It'd be nice…", not "I'd be nice…"

I nominate the Obama girls
I'd be nice to see them get a little attention too.

Dylan on Dharma & Greg.

Jandek
There's a video survey and commentary on the mysterious album covers of oddball outsider musician Jandek in the documentary, Jandek on Corwood.

Bad Typography ruins all photography
Jesus, are those actually the real covers for Human Touch/Lucky Town? Hard to believe a giant record company with deep pockets for a design budget could be this ham-fisted with the layout for one of their major acts.

Doctor Literature vs. Captain Comic Book in The Battle for Critical Respectability seems like an anticlimactic fight scene since one has millennia of tradition against the other's century or so. Only the most adamant comics supporter would argue that comics have achieved as much depth as the written word.

Frank Sinatra
Guess I'm coming late to the party — 1300+ comments already. I doubt many will even read this one.

I can't really justify or defend Salo, I watched it on Netflix just like you did to see what all the fuss was about.

Whatever became of Chang's wife and baby on the island?

Also: wallflower, is that a Philip Guston blob head?

Agreed, I appreciate it more for the cliffhangers and unpredictability of the plot than for the acting or dialogue.
