Yep, that's a miniseries.
I wish we still could see downvotes, I'd love to see that comment getting bombed.
The whole part with the Kid was unnecessary.
Yes, I remember Robert Duvall
I remember reading some piece, maybe on Cracked, about how the holodeck would be the biggest drug ever invented. And it would. Wouldn't even need to score heroin—you could go in the holodeck and make holo-heroin. Or fuck Kate Upton. Whatever.
He does have a weird tin ear for dialogue, doesn't he?
THE MONSTERS ARE HERE!
Trashcan Man's journey was extended, IIRC. Wasn't that stuff with the Kid cut out of the original?
The book is a lot better in those opening chapters, also.
You are correct, it is described in the novel as a literal hand.
THE DEMON IS ME!
She's a good actress, should have been a bigger star.
I believe the book specifically describes him as wearing denim.
A nice Reliant automobile.
Well, it is miscast, pretty badly. It might be unfair to criticize actors from the 80s for still wanting to work, but Molly Ringwald is terrible in this.
Oh holy hell, if Paul Thomas Anderson were to turn away from his arthouse cinema—which is always fucking fantastic—and do a big-budget genre epic like "The Stand"…
We should. Boy howdy, did she have great breasts. She almost made "Just Shoot Me" worth watching.
I Netflixed it last year for a 20th anniversary showing, and to check out the wild cyber-future of 2007. I didn't like it better than the first time i saw it, when i never bothered to watch the ending. Lots of plot contrivance and characters killed nonsensically.
I actually remember Tommyknockers as my favorite of the mid-90's TV adaptations. Marg Helgenberger, Jimmy Smits, Tracy Lords… okay it's a little fuzzy but it kept my interest and made me want to read the book, which is more than The Stand here did.
