This is a well-written review, and I might check this record out despite being pretty over AF, because this intriguingly sounds like the record sets aside AF's increasingly po-faced precious high-conceptual persona (on Reflektor they seemed less like they were having fun in the disco, than "having fun in the disco");

You've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to your life.

BoingBoing went through a Die Antwoord phase, and all I could think after a while was STOP TRYING TO MAKE DIE ANTWOORD HAPPEN

I wanted Coach Taylor to be my dad.

I move for a bad court thingy.

Speaking of "Helicon", one of the few uses of atomic-bomb-footage-as-music-video that actually works:

I wish I knew how to get the white space instead of having to use periods…returns don't do it.

OF COX?

Yeah, it's weird, when listening to it recently I had no idea why I rated it lower at the time. It's aces. (The final two albums the Banshees did, though, are still pretty weak).

If you are using Firefox, there are browser plugins that will handle encrypting/decrypting of simple cyphers (like this, and LEET, and some others) onscreen with a simple highlight/right-click, so rot13 is pretty painless to use. I use LeetKey. There's probably something comparable for other browsers too.

Upvoted for using rot13 to conceal 'spoilers', which I have debated doing around here but was afraid I would annoy people with it (people here do generally try to mark spoilers, which I appreciate, but if you are a fast reader you can still get stuff, even when just scrolling by). You have emboldened me to try in the

I'm a guy, and I love me some Siouxsie and her Banshees.

Yup, that can happen.

it just seems like every letter that does describe basic sexual
incompatibility (or worse) always has that "but other than this the
relationship is perfect". I don't believe it there, and I don't believe
it here.

I see no reason to assume (yet) it's bad pairing, rather than her job, that is causing the problem (and she basically admits that IMO). That should be the first thing you check.

Maybe. But as someone in a dual-work marriage with kids, in which one or both of us is frequently overworked/overstressed/overtired, which invariably impacts the sex frequency and libido (hell, I'm a guy, and sometimes it seems like it'd be easier to just masturbate, than have sex - so her "fantasy" of mostly cuddles

Counterpoint: Winona is super, duper, DUPER hot.

Yeah, and that could have been retconned in easily - just have a bullet hole in the hood when he lifts it up, and we'd assume that it caught one without us or him noticing it at the time.

Yes, who could have possibly foreseen that a stressful and demanding job might reduce your sex drive to - shudder - ONCE A WEEK? The horror.
